2024 MLB Bet Picks for April 27: Best props, odds, more

April 27 should be an interesting day of action in Major League Baseball, especially since the Rockies and Astros are set to play in the hitter-friendly confines of Mexico City. Here’s a look at our best MLB bets for April 27, 2024.

Our best bets for April 27

Here’s a look at our best MLB bets for April 27 (odds via BetMGM New York Sportsbook):

  • Royals/Tigers under 8 runs (-110)
  • Joe Ross under 5.5 strikeouts (-175)

Although we are tempted to look at the Mexico City games between Colorado and Houston, a game in a hitter’s paradise, many of the available bets are just too risky.

Instead, we’ll look toward a game that should be more of a pitcher’s duel, between Kansas City and Detroit. Casey Mize has sparkled this season, and the righty’s coming off his best start of 2024 when he threw six scoreless frames against the Twins on April 21.

Brady Singer has also been excellent, as the Royals pitcher owns a WHIP of 0.95 and has yielded two or fewer runs in all but one of his starts.

The Royals offense has ranked in the middle of the pack this season, while the Tigers own the fourth-lowest wOBA (.287) in the league.

As for our second pick, we’re going with a Brewers pitcher for a second straight day. Joe Ross, who’s struck out four or fewer batters three out of four times this season, will get the Yankees on April 27.

Ross relies heavily on his sinker and slider, which has led to an above-average Whiff% rate and an above-average GB% rate.

The Yankees enter play on the 27th with the eighth-best Whiff% (22.8%) in the league.
