In past MLB The Show games, one common Mission that has come up in various programs is getting a save. The term save could be a confusion one for both newer and experienced baseball fans, just because of the convoluted requirements. For those in a bind, here’s a look at how to get a save in MLB The Show 25.

Tips for getting a save in MLB The Show 25

First off, it’s important to note that much like in real baseball, a save in MLB The Show 25 is not credited unless a reliever finishes the game either with a three-run lead or fewer, or other criteria.

The criteria are as follows:

  • Pitch at least three innings in relief (not the starting pitcher)
  • Enters and finishes the game with the potential tying run either on base, at bat, or on deck

For those trying to notch saves for Diamond Dynasty Missions in three-inning games like Conquest or Events, be mindful that pitching at least three innings in relief will not be feasible.

Now for those creatures who can build big leads in Mini Seasons or Conquest and need help getting a save, one can always let runners intentionally score to meet the three-run led or fewer requirements.

Examples include intentionally walking batters or just letting fly balls get down and allow the CPU runner to score.
