MLB The Show 24 Moonshot Program: 99 OVR Thome, how to make progress, more

It’s back for another year, that being the Moonshot Program. The MLB The Show 24 Moonshot Program went live on August 16, which included 30,000 XP towards Season 2 and a 99 OVR Action Figure Jim Thome. Here’s a look at the program rewards, plus how to make progress.

How to get 99 OVR Jim Thome

To get 99 OVR Jim Thome and two other 99 OVR cards — Brent Rooker and Eugenio Suarez — one will need 50 Star Points in the Moonshot Program in MLB The Show 24. Here’s a look at the program rewards:

1 Point – Moonshot Season 2 Pack
5 Points – MLB The Show 24 pack
10 Points – 99 OVR Topps Now Brent Rooker and 7.500 XP
15 Points – 500 Stubs
20 Points – MLB The Show 24 pack (x2)
25 Points – 99 OVR Prime Eugenio Suarez and 7,500 XP
30 Points – 1,000 Stubs
35 Points – Ballin’ is a Habit pack
40 Points – 7,500 XP
45 Points – Headliners pack
50 Points – 99 OVR Action Figure Jim Thome and 7,500 XP

How to make progress in Moonshot Program

Diamond Dynasty players must complete a series of Moments and Missions to complete the MLB The Show 24 Moonshot Program. Here’s a look at those:

Complete Extreme Moment (6 pts. – hit a home run off Randy Johnson with Mark McGwire) (OPTIONAL)
Complete Moments (18 pts. – 3 pts. each)
Tally 500 PXP with 99 OVR Brent Rooker and Eugenio Suarez in 1v1 Ranked, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, and Conquest (5 pts.)
5 pts. Missions each for hitting 15 home runs with the following Series of players: Live Series, 2024 All-Star, 2024 Home Run Derby, 2024 MLB Draft, Action Figure Series, S2 Legends (Retired), 6’4” or taller players, 5’10” or shorter players

This isn’t an all-Moments program, like the Moments of Glory. Not all of the Moments and Missions must be completed here. But, rather a combination.

There are also Season 2 Moonshot Event Program Missions. These will be available through August 29, 2024, as part of the Moonshot Event:

Give up 15 home runs with Moonshot Season 2 pitchers in Events (5 pts.)
Tally 20 home runs with any batter in the Moonshot: Season 2 event (5 pts.)
Tally three home runs with 99 OVR Brent Rooker in Moonshot: Season 2 event (5 pts.)
Tally three home runs with 99 OVR Eugenio in Moonshot: Season 2 event (5 pts.)

The Moonshot Season 2 Pack comes with five Common pitchers — Eric Gagne, Tom Glavine, Dontrelle Willis, Andrew Miller, and Randy Johnson — and those cards are the ones that are a part of the Moonshot Pitchers Mission.

This program will not expire.
