The early access period of MLB The Show 24 gave Diamond Dynasty players their first taste of Team Affinity 1. Team Affinity looks different in 2024, as the programs will feature three chapters as part of Sony San Diego’s “power creep” strategy. Here’s what MLB The Show players 24 need to know about the first season of Team Affinity 1, including the Chapter 1-3 rewards and how to progress.

What is Team Affinity and how does it work?
Team Affinity is a different set of reward paths from the Season-based reward paths. Rather than accumulating XP, one must complete a series of Missions, Moments, Conquests, and other tasks that are division-based.
For MLB The Show 24, Team Affinity cards will be released in stages, or Chapters. The first chapter of Season 1 went live at launch. The second will launch in mid-April and the last one will drop in May.
Team Affinity, however, will not expire once the active season ends.

How to make progress in Team Affinity 1 Chapter 3
Here’s a look at some of the ways to make progress in Chapter 3:
- Vouchers: Each Voucher awards 3,000 TA. Vouchers can be obtained through Team Affinity: Chapter 3 Showdown, Conquest, and Mini Seasons
- Multiplayer and Single-Player stat-based Missions
- Player Exchanges: Do not do these.
- March to October:
- Extreme Moment and Showdowns: Each Extreme Moment rewards 10,000 TA per division. The Showdown, upon completion, awards 20,000 TA towards all divisions.
However, arguably the most important way to make progress is through repeatable PXP Missions with Season 1-eligible players from a specific division, as well as Bosses from Chapters 1 & 2. Every 2,500 PXP with division players rewards 7,500 TA, while every 1,500 PXP from Bosses rewards 5,000 TA.
Once unlocking any of the TA3: Chapter 3 Bosses, a 10,000 TA point bonus will be awarded for those who hit 10 total bases (for hitters) or five strikeouts (for pitchers).

How to make progress in Chapter 2
Here’s how MLB The Show 24 players can make progress in Chapter 2:
- Season 1 Vouchers: These can be claimed through the Team Affinity Showdowns or Conquests.
- Extreme Showdown: Players can get 20,000 TA for completing the TA1C2 Extreme Showdown.
- Moments: Each division comes with one Extreme Moment, which earns 10,000 TA upon completion.
- Single-Player and Multiplayer Missions: Generally, these are stat-based missions involving players of a specific division.
- PXP Missions: Earn PXP Points with players from a specific division, as well as the 89 OVR Choice Bosses. The team ones (i.e. PXP Missions involving players with one team) are smaller, as only 4,000 TA can be earned, although the required PXP is also smaller. However, there is a repeatable Mission involving Chapter 1 & 2 Bosses, one that’s 6,000 TA for each repeat. This is likely one to focus on.
- Team Affinity Conquest: There is only one Team Affinity 1 Chapter 2 Conquest, as opposed to three. It is repeatable and does offer four TA1C2 Vouchers each time, or 11,200 total TA points.
- Player Exchanges: One can exchange players. However, this destroys cards and isn’t recommendable.
- March to October: Can earn TA Points from March to October, which varies depending on how far one goes and the difficulty.

How to make progress in Chapter 1
Progress in MLB The Show 24 Team Affinity 1 can be made by way of the following:
- Season 1 Vouchers: These can be claimed through the Team Affinity Showdowns.
- Moments: Each division has a series of Moments that can be completed to earn TA Points.
- Single-Player and Multiplayer Missions: Generally, these are stat-based missions involving players of a specific division.
- PXP Missions: Earn PXP Points with players from a specific division, as well as the 89 OVR Choice Bosses.
- Team Affinity Conquest: 30,000 TA Points can be earned for completing a Conquest map

Chapter 1 Conquests and hidden rewards
As noted in the last section, MLB The Show 24 players can make progress in Team Affinity 1 through Conquests.
As of early access, there are three Chapter 1 conquests, one for the East, Central, and West divisions, respectively.
Each Conquest comes with rewards that can be unlocked by completing goals, which can be completed by taking territories and Strongholds. There are also hidden rewards, much like Conquests in other years.
Each Conquest comes with three MLB The Show 24 packs as hidden rewards, for a grand total of nine between the three.
