While many of the 2025 Finest cards for MLB The Show 25 have yet to be released as of this writing, the first batch was released on October 31. Among the released cards was a 99 OVR Jose Altuve, one obtainable through the Exchanges. This is the second time during this game’s lifecycle that a 99 OVR card had to be acquired this way.
Jose Altuve Exchange requirements
To get the 99 OVR Finest Jose Altuve in MLB The Show 25, one must exchange Live Series cards up to 500,000 in in-game value.
Must like the 99 OVR Xavier Edwards exchange that dropped in September, no other cards are allowed in the exchange other than Live Series cards.
Now, as far as how to get to 500,000, keep in mind that higher-overall Live Series cards will — as one should expect — a higher exchange value. For perspective, here’s a look at the values, overall, between 70-89 OVR:

One could simply buy higher-overall cards just to get this done. After all, 85 OVR cards on the market go for roughly 3,000 Stubs. Buy 25 of those, and you can get to 500,000 easily.
However, one should focus on cleaning up the collection binder of lower OVR cards first. Even for those who’ve only played the game for a little bit, there are likely many 70-75 OVR cards sitting in the collection that can be burned.
It should be noted, though, that cards collected for Live Series can’t be used for an exchange.
Where to find Exchange menu in MLB The Show 25
From the Diamond Dynasty main menu, scroll to the ‘Collect’ section. Then, click on ‘Exchanges,’ the tile on the right-hand side.
After doing so, click on ‘Exchange Players’ and then scroll down to the Finest Jose Altuve exchange.
