Much like with New Threads, Sony San Diego released a second batch of Moonshot cards in MLB The Show 25 on September 12, aptly named Moonshot 2.0. The program includes at least 12 new 99 OVR cards, and the collection features a 99 OVR Hank Aaron, on top of two other notable rewards.

First off, let’s go over the ‘Higher Gravity’ Extreme Moments. Each involves hitting one home run with one of the six pitchers who have Commons in the Moonshot 2.0 Program on Hall of Fame difficulty. However, while these pitchers have Commons, you won’t be able to face them in these moments. Instead, you’ll face their best versions.

Second, the Moonshot 2.0 event runs will run from September 12, 2025, through September 23, 2025, at 2 PM ET. You can only get the optional Event missions done in that period. By the way, only Common pitchers are allowed, so those pitchers at the start of the program should help.

Lastly, our advice is to pick your favorite custom stadium (or Coors Field), and grind in single-player for those inclined to do so.

Moonshot 2.0 Collection

There are three Moonshot 2.0 Collection rewards: 99 OVR Tim Raines, Ozzie Smith, and Hank Aaron. Here are the attributes for the three:

Fifty Moonshot cards are needed to unlock 99 OVR Tim Raines. Fifty-five are needed for Ozzie Smith, and 60 for Hank Aaron.

To get Aaron, Raines, and Smith, Diamond Dynasty players need to get players from both Moonshot drops. Meaning, the one from September 12 and the cards released in May (more on those here).

Additionally, all collection rewards from Moonshot 1.0 (i.e., Grandal, Buxton, etc.) count towards the updated one.

Aside from those previously released, 12 Moonshot 2.0 cards were released in the program, with 12 more being in the Full Moon 2.0 pack.
