Last year, Sony opted not to make MLB The Show 25 available at any point on Xbox Game Pass or PS Plus, marking a notable shift in their marketing & sales plan. But for 2026, that won’t be the case, as the publisher of MLB The Show 26 is making the game available through PS Plus during the month of September.

MLB The Show back on PS Plus

Sony announced that MLB The Show 26 will be one of the four games available on all tiers of PlayStation Plus during September. The other three are Sniper Elite: Resistance, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes.

While the game is on PS Plus, it can simply be redeemed and immediately added to one’s digital library on a permanent basis. PlayStation regularly does this for those who have a PS Plus subscription throughout every month of the year.

This is a notable development, given that Sony has sought to move MLB The Show away from being available on a subscription service over the past few years. The last time an MLB The Show game was made available was back in 2024, a year in which Sony bled players throughout the year amidst a poorly received Sets/Seasons format in Diamond Dynasty.

MLB The Show 24 started with significantly more active Diamond Dynasty players to start the year in 2025, before a considerable drop. But there was a plausible reason why the starting number was lower in 2025.

From 2021 through 2024, MLB The Show was available on Xbox Game Pass. But in 2025, Sony opted to make it available on the service, instead requiring all Xbox players to purchase the full title in order to play it.

This offer will run from September 1, 2026, through October 5, 2026.
