On September 9, 2026, Astros second baseman Jose Altuve joined the 2,500-hit club in Major League Baseball. To celebrate the achievement, the MLB The Show 26 team released a free 99 OVR Milestone Altuve in Diamond Dynasty on September 11. It can be obtained by completing a short Program.

Here’s a look at the reward path for the MLB The Show 26 Jose Altuve Milestone Program:
- 500 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
- 1,000 Points: 2,500 XP
- 1,500 Points: Ballin’ is a Habit pack
- 2,000 Points: 5,000 XP
- 2,500 Points: 99 OVR Milestone Jose Altuve
The format is exactly the same as the Freddie Freeman Program from June, when he notched his 2,500th-career hit & received a 96 OVR Milestone. Anyways, here are the attributes for Altuve:
How to make progress
- Complete five Moments (750 Points – 150 pts. each)
- Missions:
- Tally 47 extra-base hits in any game mode with any players (1,000 pts.)
- Tally 200 total bases with any players (1,000 pts.)
- Tally 1,500 PXP with Astros players (350 pts.)
- Tally three wins in any game mode (150 pts.)
- Tally 750 PXP with any Jose Altuve card (250 pts.)
Compared to the 96 OVR Freeman Program, this one will be a bit more of a grind.
Unlike the Freeman one, there is no special My Legacy Mission that can be completed just by collecting a Hits Icon obtained for cumulative base hits. Meaning, you’ll have to do a fresh grind. However, it should be worth noting that not all Missions and Moments must be completed.
As for the Altuve-specific Mission, one will have to use either his Live Series card or the 91 OVR Postseason Altuve that was released earlier in the year as a Multiplayer Program reward. Those who don’t have it can buy it off the Marketplace.
