Back in December, we covered the initial rollout of Sony’s MLB The Show Mobile game. This title will look to compete with the many other MLB-licensed mobile games, and it’s close to a full release in the United States. Sony started en masse pre-registration in the Apple & Google Play Stores on the 29th.

Trailer & info

Pre-registration for MLB The Show Mobile opened up in the United States on the 29th of April. This news came months after the title first launched its pre-release beta version in Southeast Asia in December 2025. Since then, it has launched in Nicaragua, Mexico, Colombia, Australia, and the Dominican Republic.

Once the game opens up to those who sign up, users will be able to collect cards & assemble teams much like in Diamond Dynasty. It should be noted that this is a standalone game and is not like the MLB The Show Companion app, which is an accessory for the console title.

Individuals can now vote on which rewards will be available as part of the pre-registration item list, which includes an 85 OVR Aaron Judge.

Be mindful, though, that this game does have very specific hardware requirements. The minimum processor required, per Sony’s standards for Android, is a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 (Mali G715), which wasn’t released until 2022. Meaning, many devices that were released before then likely won’t be compatible.

For those wondering, here are the specific requirements for both Apple and Android products:

Apple

  • Minimum Processor: A13
  • Minimum RAM: 3GB, Recommended RAM 4 GB
  • Minimum Operating System: iOS 26
  • Supported Devices:
    • iPhone SE 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen
    • iPhone 11 and above (iPhone 17 Pro Max)

Android

  • Minimum Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 9200 (Mali G715)
  • Minimum RAM: 4 GB, Recommended RAM 8 GB
  • Minimum Operating System: Android 12 Snow Cone (SDK 31)

In layman’s verbiage, anyone with an iPhone 16 or comparable should be fine. The same can be said for the Samsung Galaxy S25. No tables and iPads will be supported.
