The 11th week of the 2025 Minor League Baseball season saw a lot of action. Teams clinched playoff spots, notable prospects had big weeks, and several power left-handed pitchers received promotions. Here’s what went down in Week 11.
Teams clinch first-half playoff berths
The first half of the 2025 Minor League season is nearing its end, and several teams have locked up playoff berths.
Starting in Low-A, Lynchburg (CLE) locked up the first-half title in the Carolina League thanks in large part to great pitching. Jogly Garcia, before he landed on the IL, struck out 54 over six starts (30.2 IP). Melkis Hernandez, former Miami (FL) Rafe Schlesinger, and former Harvard reliever Sean Matson helped solidify a strong overall group.
Rancha Cucamonga (LAD) notched a berth in the California League playoffs. Mike Sirota, now in High-A, helped play a key role early on in the season. But aside from Sirota, a deep offense that included Elijah Hainline, Jaron Elkins, and Eduardo Quintero — the 19-year-old with 33 stolen bases and 11 home runs this season — helped push the Quakes to play September baseball.
The Mets’ affiliates, meanwhile, are in great shape. Brooklyn (A+) is at the top of the SAL North standings as of June 16, while St. Lucie (A) and Binghamton (AA) clinched spots.
Promotions & moves
Triple-A hitters in the International League may not enjoy Noah Schultz.
Schultz, who struck 58 over 56.2 IP with Birmingham (AA), was promoted to Charlotte (AAA) this past weekend. He’ll make his Knights debut this week, as the powerful lefty looks to make a strong impression up in Chicago.
Speaking of great left-handers, Thomas White was promoted to Double-A on June 16. White, arguably the best player in the Marlins’ farm system, struck out 53 batters over 35 innings with Beloit (A+). Opposing batters in the Midwest League only hit .176 off the lefty.
One player, however, who moved up to High-A was Konnor Griffin. Griffin, the Pirates’ first-round pick in 2024, slashed .338/.396/.536 (.932 OPS) with nine home runs and 21 extra-base hits with Bradenton (A) before the promotion. He hit .407 with two home runs and six extra-base hits in his first week with Greensboro (A+).
It’s worth noting Griffin was a barrel machine in the Minors. His 11 barrels ranked him in the top 15 of the Florida State League, although not first on his team. Yordany De Los Santos and Jhonny Severino, the latter of whom was acquired in the Carlos Santana trade two years ago, led the team with 12.
Axiel Plaz, the FSL leader, has 19 on the year.
Additionally, it’s important to note Roman Anthony, Brady House, and Jacob Misiorowski — three of the best prospects in the International League — were promoted to “The Show” this past week.
Athletics pitchers have big weeks
The top three strikeout men in the Pacific Coast League all came from Las Vegas.
Luis Morales, one of the best prospects in the farm system, struck out 16 over 10 frames for the Aviators this past week. He’s now up to 85 over 69 innings this season.
Jack Perkins (12) and Mason Barnett (9) followed Morales.

- INF Jett Williams (AA/NYM): 10 hits, eight XBH over six games
- OF Gabriel Gonzalez (AA/MIN): 11 hits over six games
- INF Emilien Pitre (A+/TB): 13 hits, 10 RBI over six games
- P Travis Sykora (A+/WSH): 10 strikeouts over five innings
- INF Kevin McGonigle (A+/DET): 11 hits, six RBI over five games
- INF Michael Arroyo (A+/SEA): 10 hits, four home runs over six games
- INF Cristian Santana (A+/DET): four home runs, six walks over five games
