Recapping Week 21 of the 2026 MiLB Season

We’re nearing the end of the 2026 Minor League season, as there are just two weeks left in the regular season for Low-A and High-A, and three for Double-A. This past week saw several 2026 first-rounders have strong weeks, plus several top prospects finish atop the weekly leaderboards.

Jenkins going strong

The St. Paul Saints had three outfielders amongst the top 10 in home runs in the International League this past week. Three were from Gabriel Gonzalez, three from Emmanuel Rodriguez, and four from Walker Jenkins.

Jenkins, the Twins’ first-rounder from 2023, finished second in the IL in hits (10) over the last seven days, slashing .500/.600/1.100. He also stole three bases in five games with the Saints.

Rodriguez continues to roll in Springfield

Cardinals catching prospect Rainiel Rodriguez put together a very strong week for the Double-A Springfield Cardinals.

Across five games last week, Rodriguez slashed .583/.577/1.083 with three home runs, nine RBI, and a league-high 14 hits down in the Texas League.

Since the start of August, Rodriguez leads the Texas League with 31 total hits.

Witherspoon strong with Frederick

Former first-round pick Kyson Witherspoon had himself a fantastic week, thanks to an eight-strikeout performance against Wilmington on August 21. Witherspoon tossed five no-hit innings versus the Nationals’ High-A affiliate.

Since the trade that sent him to the Orioles, Witherspoon has struck out 20 over 14.1 IP, allowed just two earned runs, and has yet to allow a home run as a Baltimore prospect.

INF Yonatan Henriquez (A+ – NYM): nine hits, four home runs over five games
INF Eric Bitonti (A+ – MIL): eight hits, three home runs over six games
OF Robert Calaz (A+ – COL): 12 hits, four home runs over six games
SP Liomar Martinez (A+ – MIA): nine strikeouts, no earned runs over six IP
