In November 2023, Major League Baseball confirmed the location for the All-Star Game that’s set to be held in 2025. So, where’s the All-Star Game headed? Here’s a look at where the 2025 MLB All-Star Game will be held.
Date and location
The 2025 MLB All-Star Game will be hosted by the Braves and held at Truist Park, just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. This will mark the first time that the All-Star Game will be held in Georgia since 2000.
That year, the Braves hosted the affair at Turner Field. The American League defeated the National League by a score of 6-3 and Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter won the All-Star Game MVP.
No date has been announced as of this writing. However, the game is traditionally held in July.
The 2021 MLB All-Star Game
We should note that Truist Park was scheduled to host the 2021 MLB All-Star Game, a year that saw the Braves win their second World Series title in the state of Georgia.
MLB pulled the game in April 2021 in response to a Georgia law that was opposed by certain special-interest groups due to alleged voter suppression. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred stated at the time,
“Over the last week, we have engaged in thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association, and The Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views. I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft.”
“Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box. In 2020, MLB became the first professional sports league to join the non-partisan Civic Alliance to help build a future in which everyone participates in shaping the United States. We proudly used our platform to encourage baseball fans and communities throughout our country to perform their civic duty and actively participate in the voting process. Fair access to voting continues to have our game’s unwavering support.”Rob Manfred (via ESPN)
One year after MLB pulled out of Georgia, the state’s Secretary of State office announced that record early voting turnout was achieved during the 2022 midterm election. The U.S. Census Bureau added in 2023 that Georgia saw an “all-time” turnout record for a midterm.
