Here’s a look at our best MLB bets for April 26 (odds via BetMGM New York Sportsbook):
- Colin Rea under 4.5 strikeouts (-120)
- Kutter Crawford over 5.5 strikeouts (-160)
The Yankees’ offense didn’t light up the board against the Athletics this past week, and a team that’s normally been good when it comes to avoiding the strikeout saw JP Sears, Joe Boyle, and Paul Blackburn all get at least five K’s in their starts.
Things could be different against Colin Rea, the Brewers righty who’s pitched well to this point. Rea owns a strong 2.08 ERA as of April 26. However, Rea is a pitch-to-contact arm who has a low Whiff% rate of 17.1%.
Rea has recorded more than five strikeouts just once in four starts this season.
As for our second pick, Kutter Crawford gets Shota Imanaga and the Cubs at Fenway Park. Crawford owns an above-average K% of 27.3% this season and the righty’s picked up six or more strikeouts in four of five starts.
The Cubs own the 13th-worst Whiff% rate at 26.4%.
