World Series Futures Odds and Best Picks

Here’s a look at the 2024 MLB team futures odds for winning the World Series, per BetMGM:

  • Dodgers: +360
  • Braves: +550
  • Yankees: +800
  • Astros: +850
  • Rangers: +1100
  • Orioles: +1300
  • Phillies: +1400
  • Mariners: +2000
  • Blue Jays: +2000
  • Twins: +2500
  • Cubs: +3000
  • Cardinals: +3000
  • Diamondbacks: +3500
  • Mets: +3500
  • Rays: +3500
  • Reds: +4000
  • Padres: +4000
  • Red Sox: +5000
  • Giants: +5000
  • Guardians: +6600
  • Tigers: +6600
  • Marlins: +6600
  • Brewers: +10000
  • Pirates: +12500
  • Royals: +15000
  • Angels: +15000
  • White Sox: +25000
  • Nationals: +50000
  • Athletics: +50000

To little shock, the Dodgers, now with Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, are atop the MLB team future odds for the World Series, followed by the Braves. The Yankees have the best odds to win it all out of the American League, followed by Houston and Texas.

Los Angeles and Atlanta are obviously strong contenders and the favorites thanks to their star power and deep lineups. After all, the two teams finished 2023 with the two highest win totals and OPS figures. Unfortunately, that didn’t result in playoff success.

Still, those two teams are relatively good potential bets. Los Angeles has the bats and pitching, the latter of which should get better on Walker Buehler and Clayton Kershaw. And as for the Braves, Ronald Acuna Jr. avoided major knee trouble and their lineup is still stout.

However, there’s an opportunity here to consider some teams outside the top five.

The Orioles (+1300) and Phillies (+1400) are underrated. Baltimore returns a very strong and deep lineup led by Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson, and Jackson Holliday‘s strong spring will only add to the excitement for that group. The rotation will be the key, as Kyle Bradish is hurt. But if he can come back and tandem with Grayson Rodriguez and Corbin Burnes, the O’s have the pitching they didn’t have a year ago.

As for Philadelphia, the Phillies have been stymied in each of the last two seasons, including in 2023 when they fell short to Arizona in the NLDS.

If there’s one thing about this group, it’s that the Phillies rise to the occasion in the second half and postseason. And with Aaron Nola back for 2024, the Phillies have the roster to win it all.

One team to also watch is the Rangers. Texas has the fifth-highest odds but could shift down if the Rangers have a slow start. The Rangers rotation is battered, so it’s a good idea to likely wait until more clarity on whether Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom can come back healthy come the summer.

Division Winner Odds and Best Picks

Here are 2024 MLB team futures odds for winning a division, sorted by division:

AL East

  • Yankees: +145
  • Orioles: +200
  • Blue Jays: +475
  • Rays: +700
  • Red Sox: +800

The AL East is a tough one to gauge. Baltimore feels a bit low, although injuries to Kyle Bradish and Felix Bautista don’t help. Still, the O’s have arguably the deepest lineup in the division.

The Yankees, meanwhile, have the stars and are mostly healthy. However, their rotation could be the difference maker in 2024.

As for Toronto, the Blue Jays have the talent to win this division. Unfortunately, injuries for Ricky Tiedemann, Alek Manoah, and Kevin Gausman have clouded Spring Training.

AL Central

  • Twins: -125
  • Tigers: +350
  • Guardians: +375
  • Royals: +900
  • White Sox: +3500

It’s a bit surprising to see the Royals that low. Still, the Tigers at +350 are an interesting pick.

Detroit’s lineup has the pieces, between the newly-acquired Mark Canha, and a young core led by Spencer Torkelson, to take it to the next level. Not to mention, the Tigers have a deep bullpen and one of the game’s best starters in Tarik Skubal.

Three different teams won the AL Central from 2021-23. Should Detroit win in 2024, that would make it four different teams in four years.

AL West

  • Astros: +110
  • Rangers: +200
  • Mariners: +240
  • Angels: +5000
  • Athletics: +25000

The defending World Series champions are at +200 to win the AL West. However, several injuries to their rotation make this a tough sell, although Texas could very well be just fine thanks to a strong lineup.

The Mariners at +240, though, is something to watch. Seattle came just short of winning the AL West last year and entered the final month in first place. The Mariners have a very strong pitching staff, which could help the M’s win the AL West.

NL East

  • Braves: -275
  • Phillies: +325
  • Mets: +1000
  • Marlins: +2000
  • Nationals: +10000

The Phillies stand the best chance of knocking off the Braves for first in the NL East. However, that’s not a safe bet, given the Braves’ depth.

NL Central

  • Cardinals: +175
  • Cubs: +200
  • Reds: +350
  • Brewers: +650
  • Pirates: +1600

The Cardinals are the odds-on favorite to win the NL Central. However, a questionable rotation became more questionable thanks to a hamstring injury to Sonny Gray. St. Louis is hardly a lock.

The Reds at +350 are tempting. Cincinnati has a young, deep lineup that’s getting better. And, the Reds have significantly more pitching depth. That’s critical, especially since Nick Lodolo is not 100% yet.

NL West

  • Dodgers: -600
  • Diamondbacks: +1000
  • Padres: +1300
  • Giants: +1400
  • Rockies: +20000

The Dodgers are the heavy favorites to win the NL West. Los Angeles has won the division in every season since 2013 aside from one (2021). And with an elite team, it’s hard to see them not win the NL West in 2024.

Stay away.

Most Home Run Odds and Best Picks

Here are the 2024 MLB team futures odds for the team that will hit the most home runs in 2024:

  • Braves: -185
  • Yankees: +400
  • Dodgers: +500
  • Astros: +1200
  • Rangers: +1800
  • Angels: +2000
  • Reds: +2200
  • Mets: +2200
  • Twins: +2200
  • Phillies: +2800
  • Mariners: +2800
  • Red Sox: +3300
  • Royals: +4000
  • Blue Jays: +4000
  • Rockies: +5000
  • Orioles: +6000
  • Athletics: +8000
  • Cardinals: +8000
  • Cubs: +10000
  • White Sox: +10000
  • Tigers: +10000
  • Brewers: +10000
  • Pirates: +10000
  • Rays: +10000
  • Diamondbacks: +12500
  • Padres: +12500
  • Nationals: +12500
  • Guardians: +15000
  • Marlins: +15000
  • Giants: +15000

The Braves had 10 players crack double digits in home runs last year, en route to 307 total home runs in the 2023 campaign. Nine of those 10 players are back, and Jarred Kelenic could replicate Eddie Rosario‘s 21-home run campaign from 2023.

Atlanta finished in the top three in home runs in every season from 2021-23.

The Yankees, meanwhile, have a strong chance of leading the Majors in home runs, much like New York did in 2022. Granted, Aaron Judge‘s 62-home run campaign helped. Still, Judge may very well hit 40 or 50 again if he can stay on the field.

Add in a friendly environment in Yankee Stadium, Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo, and the newly-acquired Juan Soto, all of whom are former 30-home run hitters, and the Bronx Bombers could take the crown from the Braves.

However, this is a good bet to sit out. Atlanta is the clear favorite, and there are a lot of “what ifs” among the other squads to justify going against the grain here.
