With the 12th week of the 2025 fantasy baseball season approaching, it’s time to take a look at potential targets. Our Week 12 list includes a former MVP and several hitters who’ve hit very well thus far in June.

Best Week 12 hitters to target

Three outfielders are on this week’s list, and I’ll start with Giancarlo Stanton.

Not too much explanation is needed for this one. Stanton is done with his rehab assignment and the slugger, who went 3-11 with Somerset (AA), is expected to return during the Yankees’ upcoming series against the Angels.

Stanton’s return, though, will have impacts felt across the Yankees’ lineup. Ben Rice fit in well as a DH this season and will lose some value.

Speaking of the Angels, Jo Adell finds himself on this list.

The 26-year-old’s bat speed is among the league’s best — in the 99th percentile per Statcast — and Adell’s put that power to work this month. Adell came into play on June 15, tied with Pete Alonso for the most home runs (6) in June. The Angels outfielder has 13 on the season.

There’s still high risk with Adell, a potent power hitter but one with a big, long swing and an individual who’s had swing-and-miss troubles dating back to his high school days. However, ride the hot wave while it’s still going.

The third outfielder is Evan Carter, who, like Adell, is having himself a good June. Through the first half of June, Carter slashed .387/.457/.774 (1.231 OPS) with three home runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases.

Carter’s dealt with his share of injury troubles over the last two seasons. However, the tools — speed, good plate discipline, and power — haven’t gone away. Over the last few weeks, Texas fans have seen him look more like his 2023 form, a good sign.

Next up is Trevor Story, on a good run of late. Story had four hits in the Red Sox’s series against the Yankees, and in June, the shortstop batted .314 with two home runs and 13 RBI over the first half of the month.

It’s easy to get frustrated in fantasy baseball, especially when a player gets into a funk. Story is prone to the swing-and-miss but I still love the tools and stuck with him myself. He’s worth the stash.

Lastly, don’t sleep on Alejandro Kirk. Kirk is having a quiet yet strong season. The Blue Jays catcher currently ranks eighth overall and second among catchers — only Will Smith has a higher average — in batting average (.314).

The 26-year-old might not be the most exciting catcher in fantasy because of the lack of home run power. However, he’s on pace for double-digits in home runs. And, he makes a lot of contact at the dish.

Overview of Week 11

Let’s just say I hope you listened to my Week 11 advice.

Josh Smith continued to be an effective leadoff hitter for the Rangers, as he batted .423 with two home runs over the last week. Willi Castro, also on the Week 11 target list, batted .435 with a home run, slotting in as the Twins’ three-hitter.

However, Christian Encarnacion-Strand & Trevor Larnach, both still options to watch, had cold weeks.
