We’ve reached Week 11 of the 2025 fantasy baseball season. These past few days went very well for a few players, including Reds first baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand. And yes, he’s one of our picks for best fantasy hitters to target on the waiver wire this week.
Best Week 11 hitters to target
- 2B/3B/SS/OF Willi Castro (Twins)
- 1B Christian Encarnacion-Strand (Reds)
- OF Trevor Larnach (Twins)
- 2B Ronny Mauricio (Mets)
- 1B/3B/SS/OF Josh Smith (Rangers)
Two Twins are on the list this week, and I’ll start with Willi Castro.
As I noted earlier in the week, Castro’s been on a tear of late. Coming into play on June 8, Castro hit .407 with four home runs and six RBI over his last seven games. So, what did Castro do to cap off the week? Three hits and two runs scored.
No, Castro’s not been a source for stolen bases, unlike past seasons. The veteran infielder only has three swipes on the season. Nonetheless, he’s on a streak and fantasy owners should take note.
Trevor Larnach, meanwhile, is on a similar tear. The Twins outfielder hit .368 with two home runs and seven RBI over his last eight games heading into play on June 8, before going 0-4 on the series finale against the Blue Jays. Still, a strong run for the outfielder, who’s more of a traditional power hitter.
Christian Encarnacion-Strand returned from the injured list this weekend and couldn’t have had a better weekend. The Reds infielder picked up seven hits and three home runs over three games.
Encarnacion-Strand’s been on the IL for most of 2024-25 but the power is still very much there.
And speaking of power, Ronny Mauricio is back in the Majors after Mark Vientos landed on the IL. Mauricio showcased loud tools in his brief MLB run two years ago, and that rang true again this week. The Mets’ rookie stole two bases and hit a mammoth shot: a 456-foot home run in Coors Field this past weekend.

Mauricio’s fantasy upside isn’t as high as one might think, as the swing-and-miss problems are still there. But if you’re willing to be on talent, Mauricio — who should get regular playing time in the interim — is worth a grab.
Lastly, Josh Smith’s been the Rangers’ primary leadoff hitter over the last two weeks. It’s come during a time where Texas has struggled to find consistency with their offense, as Wyatt Langford and Corey Seager are in the midst of cold spells.
Smith, aside from being a utilityman who can play multiple positions, is a quiet source for hits and stolen bases. He picked up eight hits and stolen bases over his last seven games.
Overview of Week 10
I hope you got Max Muncy when you could.
Muncy didn’t hit a home run over the last week. However, he remained a hot hitter, as the Dodgers slugger had three multi-hit games over the last week.
Carlos Santana picked up hits in four games this week, while Matt Wallner smacked two home runs for the Twins.
All in all, not a bad Week 10.
