We’ve nearly reached the end of the first half, as there’s one week left before the 2025 All-Star break. With Week 15 of the 2025 fantasy baseball season on the horizon, here’s a look at five hitters to target on the waiver wire, headlined by a red-hot hitter from Boston.

Best Week 15 hitters to target

I’ve noted Trevor Story as a name to watch multiple times this season — and this past week was a prime example of why, unless you had a glut of infielders, Story was someone who needed to be snagged.

Story had a monstrous week, as he batted .480 with three home runs and 10 RBI over the last week. Those 10 runs batted in were second-best in the Majors over that span, alongside Jose Altuve.

Look, Story can be a difference-maker thanks to his power & speed. The Red Sox shortstop has 14 home runs and 14 stolen bases on the season, putting him on pace to get to 20-20 if he can stay healthy. Story has his flaws, namely the strikeouts, but the potential is hard to ignore.

Meanwhile, in Story’s old haunt, Ezequiel Tovar is on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque and could return in the very near future.

Tovar hit .333 with three home runs in abbreviated action back in May and was arguably a top-125 player heading into the season. With few high-end options available at this stage of the game, Tovar is worth a speculative buy.

Jake Meyers is next, and while the home run output is nowhere near his 2024 (13) figure, he makes enough contact to be a depth outfield option. Since the start of May, Meyers’ 69 hits are tied with Luis Arraez, Aaron Judge, and Alec Bohm for seventh in the Majors.

Caleb Durbin, for those who need an infielder, has hit .298 (28-94) with three stolen bases since the start of June. The stolen bases have begun to come for Durbin, a plus runner who stole 30+ bases in each of his previous three seasons.

However, maybe the more reliable option is Willi Castro, who stole 33 bases two seasons ago. He didn’t come close to replicating that in 2024 but since the start of July, he picked up a league-high four stolen bases to this point.

Overview of Week 14

Yes, Chandler Simpson — for those who grabbed him last week — was a good one. Simpson batted .412 with three stolen bases, along with four runs scored.

Cam Smith, meanwhile, batted .367 with 11 hits over the week, along with five runs scored, for an Astros team that did very well in Dodger Stadium this past weekend.

And Royce Lewis, who hasn’t had a great season thus far, picked up five hits and two RBI. Lewis returned from the injured list this past week.
