Week 14 of the 2025 fantasy baseball season will see two notable hitters return: Royce Lewis & Jurickson Profar. Those two are just a few of the names who should be considered prime waiver wire targets.

Best Week 14 hitters to target

I’ll start with Otto Lopez, the Marlins infielder who was one of the hottest hitters in baseball this past week. Lopez tied with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and teammate Agustin Ramirez for the second-most hits (8) over the last week. But on top of that, he finished with 13 RBI, most in the Majors.

Lopez will obviously cool off. However, that’s not the point. The 26-year-old, over the last two seasons, has proved to be an underrated fantasy asset. And with eight home runs and nine stolen bases, Lopez could get to 15-15 on the season.

Next up are two returning players, starting with Jurickson Profar.

The Braves will get Profar back on July 2, as the 2024 All-Star returns from the restricted list after an 80-game suspension. Profar was expected to slot in as the leadoff hitter with Ronald Acuna Jr. out to start 2025. And with the power he showed last season, the ex-Padre was highly regarded in fantasy circles.

Now, things are a little different. Acuna Jr. has a stranglehold on that leadoff spot, and given the suspension, it comes with obvious questions about the power. Still, he has to be given consideration.

The other name is Royce Lewis, who could come back this week. Lewis played with St. Paul (AAA) this past weekend and on the 29th, played seven games at third base. After the Twins’ game on the same day, Minnesota DFA’d infielder Jonah Bride to presumably open up a spot for Lewis.

Lewis didn’t strike out much before he landed on the IL but hit just .202 with two home runs over 30 games. As I noted earlier this year, teams have been working Lewis up with the fastball and, in turn, caused him to pop up a lot. That’s part of it; Lewis has a 12% Barrel% this season, as the expected numbers indicate he’s also been unlucky.

Several of Lewis’ 10 barreled-up baseballs this season were tracked down by speedy outfielders, including this one down below.

Denzel Clarke is very fast.

Cam Smith returns to this list for the second week. The converted outfielder hit .400 (8-20) with two home runs this week, finally hitting for power. It was going to come at some point; even though Smith adjusted his swing at the collegiate level to get more contact, he’s still a very strong player.

Now, the question is how many home runs can he hit this season after six in the first half?

Lastly, Chandler Simpson was recalled this week by Tampa. He stole two bases this week and — need I say more?

Overview of Week 13

Overall, the Week 13 targets did very well this past week — and should remained rostered players.

Aside from Smith, Nick Kurtz belted two home runs, moving him to 12 on the season. Brooks Lee, meanwhile, picked up a hit in all but one game he played this week. That came on June 29 when he, along with the rest of the Twins, were stymied by Tarik Skubal.

Even J.P. Crawford, who had a quieter week, had himself a three-hit game this past week.
