It’s time for the second half of the 2025 fantasy baseball season, which also means the stretch run before September & the playoffs has begun. For those who need post-All-Star Game reinforcements, here’s a look at five hitters on the waiver wire that you should target as Week 16 approaches.

Best Week 16 hitters to target

Traditionally, we tend to focus on players who are owned in fewer than half of fantasy leagues (our baseline, by the way, is Yahoo! leagues). However, we’ve expanded the threshold to 60% owned max for this week, a healthy idea given we’re coming out of the All-Star break and don’t know who exactly will come out hot.

However, we know who was hot coming into the break.

Roman Anthony entered the break tied with Michael Busch for fifth in the Majors in total hits (23), from June 25 through the end of the first half. Anthony, in that stretch, hit .371 with eight extra-base hits, although one of those was a home run.

The Red Sox rookie’s power potential, however, can’t be ignored. He is barreling baseballs at a strong rate of 11.4%, something to watch as the second half approaches.

Jonathan India, meanwhile, hit .304 (16-69) with nine extra-base hits over his last 18 games, along with 11 runs scored. This hasn’t been a strong overall season for India. But, the .400 OBP in that aforementioned stretch is promising to see.

Addison Barger has been on a tear in recent weeks, providing a much-needed left-handed power bat for the Blue Jays’ offense. Barger belted 10 extra-base hits, five of which were home runs, over his previous 18 games.

Cam Smith, who’s been on these lists before, had a quieter last week before the break. Still, he notched four hits in that span.

Lastly, Jurickson Profar has gotten back on track since his PED suspension. Profar picked up 14 hits, three of which were home runs, over his last 11 games before the game in Atlanta.

Overview of Week 15

Jake Meyers landed on the injured list and will be out for a bit. However, some of the others on the list from Week 15 had productive weeks.

Willi Castro picked up five more hits, one of which was his ninth home run of the season against the Pirates. The same can be said for Caleb Durbin, who had two multi-hit games.
