We’ve reached the critical point of the 2025 fantasy baseball campaign. With one month to go, H2H playoffs are either set to kick off or will soon do so for some players. And for roto players, there’s not much time left to make up numbers. As we approach Week 21 of the 2025 season, here’s a look at five hitters to consider.
Best Week 21 hitters to target
- OF Colton Cowser (Orioles)
- 1B/OF Ryan O’Hearn (Padres)
- 3B/OF Noelvi Marte (Reds)
- C Kyle Teel (White Sox)
- 3B Mark Vientos (Mets)
Not only has Noelvi Marte helped solidify the Reds’ outfield over the last few weeks but the 23-year-old turned himself into a nice fantasy asset.
Across the last two weeks, Marte hit .370 with three home runs and 11 RBI. His 20 hits were tied with Michael Harris II and Chandler Simpson for fourth-most in the Majors over that span. And just over the last week, Marte posted four multi-hit games.
The Reds utilityman has flipped the narrative around him completely, after a sluggish 2024 both in the Majors and in winter ball.
Next up is Ryan O’Hearn, the Padres’ first baseman/outfielder, who across the last two weeks hit a respectable .282 with two home runs. The problem with O’Hearn is that San Diego has deployed him cautiously, even though the Padres paid a hefty price to get both him and Ramon Laureano in July.
From August 12 through August 18, he started in two of six games, as the Padres were regularly facing left-handed pitching.
Colton Cowser, meanwhile, hit two home runs this week as he has begun to get back on track after being briefly sidelined with a concussion this summer.
Lastly, Kyle Teel and Mark Vientos have been two of the hottest hitters over the last week.
Teel hit .478 (11-23) with two home runs and eight RBI. And, Teel has been in the lineup for the White Sox nearly every day this month. Since August 1, the young catcher for Chicago has only missed two games.
Mark Vientos had been in a funk for some time. Frorm May 30 through August 15, Vientos hit .220 with one home run over 118 plate appearances.
However, things can turn on a dime in the league, and that’s true for Vientos. He cracked four home runs over the last week. The power has always been there for Vientos.
Overview of Week 20
Last week, we noted that fantasy players should have picked up Brenton Doyle if he was available. He’s likely gone in most leagues now, as Doyle hit .455 with three home runs over the last week, continuing a torrid stretch for the Rockies outfielder.
Chandler Simpson, meanwhile, hit .381 with four more stolen bases. Those four swipes were tied for first in the Majors, alongside Corbin Carroll and Rays teammate Josh Lowe.
Ben Rice added another home run to his ledger this week, bringing his season total to 20.
