We’ve reached the fourth full week of the 2025 MLB regular and fantasy baseball season. And for those who play in weekly head-to-head leagues that lock at the start, it gets going early, as the White Sox and Red Sox play at 11 AM ET on April 21. Here’s a look at our Week 4 fantasy baseball pitcher waiver wire target list.

Best Week 4 pitchers to target

For those who listened in Week 3, it was a relatively good week. Andre Pallante struggled against a tough Mets team. But, Max Meyer struck out eight against Arizona and lowered his ERA to 2.63. Additionally, Eduardo Rodriguez notched his first win this past week against the Marlins and struck out nine in the process.

Now, off to Week 4.

Jack Leiter will make a rehab start on April 22, the next step forward in his recovery. Depending on how well that goes, Leiter could be back with Texas in short order.

This is a much stronger version of Leiter, one who now has the in-trend “kick change” that works well off his four-seamer and two-seamer. The fastball velocity was up nearly two MPH on average in his first two starts compared to 2024.

Guardians pitcher Logan Allen has been on the radar for the last three seasons. The left-hander has always had a strong changeup, one that cuts in on right-handers compared to running away. However, after a relatively good rookie season in 2023, the 26-year-old posted a 5.73 ERA in 2024 and fell off the fantasy radar.

Allen’s back on it, however, as the lefty posted a 2.11 ERA across four starts. His Whiff% rate (12.6%) is staggeringly low, as he’s leaned more on the two-seamer and cutter more in recent years. But what he is doing better is mixing his pitches, leaning less on the four-seamer. He’s used all five of his pitches 10%+ in 2025.

His next start is tentatively coming at home next weekend against the Red Sox.

Next up is Brewers rookie Logan Henderson, who struck out nine over six innings in a dominant performance against the A’s on April 20. As noted earlier this week, Henderson has a devastating fastball/changeup combo, which helped him net strikeouts in the Minors. Both pitches had 30%+ Whiff% rate on the 20th.

Grant Holmes has been nearly unhittable this season. The 29-year-old conceded 13 hits over his first 22.1 IP for the Braves. And, he’s been humming of late, as Holmes struck out six or more in two of his last three starts. His one weakness has been the walks, as the 14.9% BB% is what’s driving up the WHIP (1.21).

When hitters do hit Holmes, he gives up a lot of hard contact (7.5 Barrel/PA), which is a concern. Nonetheless, he’s been reliable and sometimes, just take what’s available.

Lastly, Jameson Taillon had himself another strong outing on April 20 against a formidable Diamondbacks offense. Taillon has gone five or more innings in his last four, and recorded six or more strikeouts in three of those four. He currently has a 33.7% Chase%, good for the 82nd percentile.

Taillon likes to change the book on hitters, as he’s using the riding four-seamer 45% of the time to begin the season. His sweeper, which can look like a deep slider at times, has been pretty good (44.1% Whiff%), too.
