Memorial Day didn’t see much in the way of IL transactions. However, there was some significant news on the rehab front. A key acquisition made by the Rays this winter is nearing a rehab assignment, while a former AL Cy Young winner will start his own later this week.

Hall returns from 60-day IL

Brewers pitcher DL Hall was activated from the 60-day IL on May 26. Hall had not pitched at the MLB level before the 26th, as he missed all of 2025 thus far with a left lat strain.

Milwaukee demoted Logan Henderson, who was off to a hot start but a pitcher who could easily be sent down thanks to how options work.

Hill on injured list

The Marlins placed Derek Hill on the injured list with a left wrist sprain. Hill notched a hit in his last four games before being placed on the IL.

Miami recalled Victor Mesa Jr. from Jacksonville (AAA) to replace Hill on the 26-man roster.

Rehab assignments

Dodgers pitcher Emmet Sheehan threw two innings on May 26 in the ACL. Sheehan struck out five over two scoreless innings. He hasn’t pitched in the Majors since 2023 thanks to elbow surgery recovery.

Tampa sent Ha-Seong Kim out to rehab with Durham (AAA) as he recovers from shoulder surgery. Kim, who hasn’t played with the Rays yet since he signed in January, went 2-2 as the Bulls’ DH. He came out of the game in the seventh inning.

Meanwhile, David Fry moved his rehab to Columbus (AAA). Fry went 0-4 with two strikeouts.

Other injury news

Speaking of the Guardians, Cleveland announced Shane Bieber will begin a rehab assignment this week in the ACL. Bieber is scheduled to start on May 31.

Bieber is recovering from Tommy John surgery.

As for other players on the injured list, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Jazz Chisholm Jr. could begin a rehab assignment this week. Jordan Westburg, meanwhile, will start a rehab assignment with Norfolk (AAA) on May 27, per MASN.
