We’re down to 16 teams in the 2025 NCAA Division I season. The 2025 Super Regionals will kick off on June 6 and while it’s laden with heavyweights, there are also a few “Cinderallas” who could dance to Omaha this weekend. Here’s a preview of each of the eight Supers.

Arizona vs. North Carolina

It was a perfect weekend for Arizona in Oregon. The Wildcats took all three games in Eugene & scored a combined 28 runs over their final two games. Arizona’s big boys came to play, as Aaron Walton drove in eight across those two games, while Brendan Summerhill & Mason White yet again came through.

However, this will be a stiff test for the Wildcats.

UNC has arguably the best 1-2 punch among the remaining teams, with Jake Knapp & Jason DeCaro. Knapp — UNC’s probable starter for Game 1 — overwhelmed Holy Cross with his fastball/slider combo, much like he did throughout the 2025 regular season. DeCaro struck out eight over six in Game 2 of their regional.

With a strong pitching staff and plenty of firepower — sophomore Gavin Gallaher was a menace in UNC’s regional clincher with three hits and four RBI — the Tar Heels are favorites to go back to Omaha once more.

Prediction: North Carolina

Coastal Carolina vs. Auburn

It’s the Sun Belt against the SEC, as Coastal Carolina heads to Auburn in a titanic clash.

The Chanticleers belong here. Coastal Carolina, like many of the teams left, was held together in part by a strong 1-2 combo in their rotation. Cameron Flukey, a strong righty with an explosive fastball and significant pro upside, struck out nine against Fairfield last weekend.

Jacob Morrison, backing up Flukey, was a top pitcher for Coastal in 2025, as well. Those two combined for nearly 200 strikeouts this season.

Auburn, meanwhile, cruised to the Supers with a 3-0 record last weekend. The Tigers defeated NC State 11-1 to move on.

Auburn’s pitching doesn’t have the same star power as Coastal but did do enough to get by. Samuel Dutton, who will face Flukey on June 6, gave up seven hits and three walks against a good Stetson offense last weekend.

Ike Irish is a legitimate difference-maker, and the Tigers will need him to come through again. He’s been hitting well of late, as the Auburn outfielder picked up a hit in every game since May 8. Irish picked up seven hits last weekend.

Prediction: Coastal Carolina

Florida State vs. Oregon State

Corvallis will be host to a battle between not just two traditional powerhouses but perhaps the most even matchup of the weekend.

FSU advanced to the Supers after a perfect Regional, highlighted by back-to-back wins against Mississippi State. And as expected, the Seminoles were carried by their stars. Jamie Arnold struck out 13 MSU hitters last weekend, while Drew Faurot blasted two home runs on June 1.

Between Faurot, Alex Lodise, freshman Myles Bailey, and the rest of this group, Florida State possesses arguably the deepest lineup remaining.

Oregon State advanced after beating old Pac-12 foe USC in a winner-take-all Game 7 last Monday. The Beavers have the pitching depth to move on. But, perhaps not enough offense to get past FSU.

Prediction: Florida State

Miami (FL) vs. Louisville

The ACC turned out to be the big winners of the Regionals. Five schools from the conference advanced to the Supers, and at least one is guaranteed to make it to Omaha. That’s thanks to this matchup.

Miami beat Southern Miss on Monday to move on to the Super Regionals. The Hurricanes have largely been the Daniel Cuvet show this season, and he didn’t disappoint, with a home run last Friday. However, the star of the weekend was Dorian Gonzalez Jr., who hit three home runs and drove in 10 last weekend.

Louisville, meanwhile, pitched and pushed their way to hosting the Super Regionals after going to Nashville to take down the top-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores & Wright State.

The Cardinals are clicking at arguably the best time. Potential 2025 first-rounder Patrick Forbes struck out 13 against ETSU, and a diverse offense that includes power-hitting outfielder Zion Rose, Eddie King Jr., and Lucas Moore can all do damage.

King Jr. went 14-26 last weekend in Nashville.

Prediction: Louisville

Murray State vs. Duke

In what’s been a turbulent season for Duke, the Blue Devils are two wins away from Omaha.

Duke got through the Athens Regional, thanks in large part to Kyle Johnson. Johnson started the year as the de facto ace, struggled, and in the matter of nearly four months, became a key piece for their pitching staff. He struck out six Bulldogs last weekend to help Duke take down Georgia.

The Blue Devils have a deep offense, highlighted by Jake Hyde, Ben Miller, and sophomore outfielder A.J. Gracia. Gracia picked up hits in seven of his last games.

Murray State got to the Supers after taking down a strong Ole Miss team. The Racers had to beat Mississippi twice, as Murray State was the fourth seed in Oxford.

The Racers are a largely veteran team, led by four hitters — two juniors & two seniors — who have .300+ AVG numbers. Senior outfielder Dustin Mercer is hitting .351 on the season, while Jonathan Hogart hit three home runs last weekend.

Prediction: Duke

Tennessee vs. Arkansas

One could — and frankly, should — argue the NCAA Regionals were a disappointment for the SEC. Out of the eight SEC regional hosts, only four advanced. The top two overall seeds in the NCAA, Vanderbilt and Texas, were ousted before the final day of the Regionals.

Nonetheless, we’re going to get a great SEC matchup in Fayetteville, between the Volunteers and Razorbacks.

On paper, one would assume the Razorbacks have the edge. Arkansas won two of three against the Vols over the final weekend of the regular season. The Razorbacks’ pitching staff was excellent last weekend, as Gage Wood struck out 13 Bluejays to finish off Creighton, one day after Zach Root tossed six scoreless innings.

Arkansas has the balance. Tennessee, meanwhile, nearly got bounced by Wake Forest and leaned heavily on their bats and ace Liam Doyle. Doyle, a Golden Spikes finalist alongside Arkansas infielder Wehiwa Aloy, notched 16 strikeouts over the Regionals.

If the Vols want the upset, their offense will need to carry Tennessee in an unfriendly environment.

Prediction: Arkansas

UTSA vs. UCLA

UTSA bested in-state rival Texas (or UT-Austin) last weekend, winning two games against the Longhorns last weekend to move on to the Supers. As a matter of fact, UTSA beat Texas three times last weekend, as one of those games came in March.

The Roadrunners beat good teams all year long. And, UTSA has a strong, veteran group that includes three of the best college hitters this season. Mason Lytle, James Taussig, and Norris McClure all batted .350 or better this season.

UCLA, meanwhile, is one weekend away from getting back to Omaha and completing a quick turnaround for the program. That turnaround was thanks in large part to Roch Cholowsky, who’s turning himself into a candidate to go in the top-five next July.

However, it’s not just Cholowsky. The Bruins scored 38 runs last weekend across the three games played in LA. Roman Martin picked up four hits in the opener and six hits overall across the weekend.

Prediction: UCLA

West Virginia vs. LSU

Yet again, West Virginia is back in the Super Regionals.

The Mountaineers made it last year before losing to UNC. Now, West Virginia faces a stiff test in the LSU Tigers. This isn’t the most powerful offense on paper but WVU can sneak up on teams. Amani Guzman, for example, picked up four hits in West Virginia’s Regional-clinching victory against Kentucky.

However, this LSU team is a steam train. Yes, the Tigers nearly got bounced by Little Rock — and that’s a concern. However, the Tigers won both games started by Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson. And in this round, you only need two wins to move to Omaha.

Prediction: LSU
