Just a few days before the start of the 2025 Super Regionals, USA Baseball released the list of 2025 Golden Spikes Award finalists. The SEC is heavily represented, as two of the three are from the conference.

Florida State infielder Alex Lodise, as of June 4, ranks 12th among all Division I players in total bases (167), tied for 10th in hits (92), and helped the Seminoles make it back to the Super Regionals.

The second finalist is Arkansas infielder Wehiwa Aloy. Aloy was a dominant force for one of the top teams in the SEC during the regular season, as he cracked 20 home runs and posted a 1.126 OPS.

Aloy hit at least 14 home runs in all three seasons he spent with the Razorbacks.

The last player among the three finalists is Tennessee left-hander Liam Doyle. The Volunteers are Doyle’s third team in three years, as the junior spent 2023 with Coastal Carolina and 2024 with Ole Miss. While Doyle was a strong strikeout pitcher in his first two seasons, the 2025 campaign was easily his best.

The 21-year-old won 10 games with the Vols, posted a 2.84 ERA, and is one of two Division I pitchers with 150+ strikeouts.

Doyle is currently the NCAA Division I leader in strikeouts (158). That, however, could change between now and the end of the season. LSU right-hander Kade Anderson, a Golden Spikes semifinalist, has 156 strikeouts headed into the Super Regionals.

Anthony Eyanson, also with LSU, is further behind him with 135.

Should Aloy or Doyle win, the award will stay in the SEC yet again. Former LSU outfielder Dylan Crews won the 2023 version, while Georgia slugger Charlie Condon won in 2024.

The 2025 Golden Spikes Award will be given out on June 21.
