The 2026 Wareham Gatemen roster includes a strong collection of standout freshmen, both hitters and pitchers, from this past year’s college season. Plus, one of the best contact hitters in the country and two power-hitting catchers.

Good things are supposed to come in pairs, and in a sense, so do teammates from college who are now on the same Cape Cod team. Soon-to-be-freshmen Mark Brissey and Peyton Lee worked as relievers on a deep Arkansas pitching staff this past year. The two each averaged over a strikeout per inning this season.
Garrett Lambert is one of two members from the 2026 Mercer roster with Wareham. Lambert was a key reason why Mercer was one of the top non-power schools, as the righty struck out 90 over 71 innings as a freshman for the Bears.
Jake Schweitzer and Ty Starke, two Louisville pitchers who worked as relievers this season, are two of three Cardinals on Wareham.

Drew Rogers didn’t play too much for a deep Georgia Tech team, as the sophomore started just 19 of the Yellow Jackets’ 61 contests. However, he made an impact nonetheless with six home runs in limited action.
Levi Clark was one of three Tennessee Volunteer sophomores to hit 13 home runs this season, alongside Blake Grimmer and Blaine Brown. It was the second straight year thatClark, a two-year starter in Knoxville, hit at least 10 in a single season.
Sophomore Coen Niclai didn’t play much in 2026, as he saw just 25 games of action with ASU. He did hit five home runs and posted a .425 on-base percentage.

Chris Ramirez was one of the NCAA’s best contact hitters for a California Baptist team that did very well this season despite not making the tournament. Ramirez will finish fourth in Division I in total hits (98), thanks to Daniel Jackson and Owen Hull passing him during the postseason.
Caden McDonald played in 41 games this season for the Gators, although he started in just 21 of those. However, he was a force, as he hit nine home runs to finish tied for fifth on the team.
Freshman Kade Elam was one of the best stories to come out of Louisville this season. Elam slashed .297/.352/.472 with seven home runs.

Sophomore Jason Wachs was the best statistical hitter for the Green Wave this past season. Wachs led Tulane in total hits (66) and home runs (9) this past season.
Junior RJ Hamilton led Duke in runs scored (51), hit seven home runs, and batted .333 for the Blue Devils.
And then, there’s Dylan Dubovik, the standout freshman from Miami (FL) who was one of the best high schoolers from 2025 not to go pro. For a freshman, his numbers were very good, as Dubovik hit over .300 and hit seven home runs for the Hurricanes.
