For most of the Division I college baseball scene, this is the final regular-season weekend before the start of 2026 postseason tournaments. There’s a lot on the line over the final weekend, including positioning in said tournaments, plus padding the resumes for NCAA Regional sites. And for Florida State and Southern Miss, both schools did the latter this past week.

We’ll start with Jacksonville State of the C-USA, which won its 40th game of 2026 on May 10 after taking another in-conference series, this time against Kennesaw State. The Gamecocks are now 40-11 on the year.
Jacksonville State doesn’t have a ton of team power and is mostly an older team made up of juniors and seniors. However, JSU can hit, as junior Trey King and sophomore Jaxon Pate are tied for the team lead in hits with 62. Additionally, their weekend rotation of Eli Pillsbury, Steven Cash, and Beau Bryans all have sub-3.00 ERA figures.
JSU will finish the regular season with a home matchup versus Auburn, followed by a road series with Dallas Baptist.
As for Oklahoma State, the Cowboys have won each of their last three weekend conference series. Most recently, taking two of three from Arizona State. OSU scored 22 runs over their two wins, including 13 on May 9. Alex Conover and Colin Brueggemann each had two home runs.
Moving on to the rest of the top 25, Florida State took two of three on the road in Clemson this past weekend. Wes Mendes was excellent in Game 1, as he struck out 10 for the Seminoles. Bryson Moore shut down Clemson in the third & final game.
FSU will get Miami (FL) to round out the regular season.
Meanwhile, the Southern Miss Golden Eagles moved to #9 after a sweep of James Madison. Southern Miss put some distance between itself and Coastal Carolina, which lost their weekend series against Old Dominion. However, CCU is still ahead of Southern Miss in the conference standings.
Kansas had a week to forget, which moved the Jayhawks down to #17. KU lost to Creighton in a non-conference matchup and was then swept by West Virginia at home this past weekend. WVU is now a game behind Kansas heading into the final weekend.
UCLA, lastly, stays at #1. The Bruins lost one game to Oregon but took their final home regular-season series of the year. Three games against the Washington Huskies await UCLA before the Big 10 tournament.
