With the start of July coming this week, we don’t need to tell you that the runway in fantasy baseball is getting shorter and shorter. So, with a new week upon us, here’s a look at which pitchers we recommend on the waiver wire as Week 14 of the 2026 season approaches.
Best Week 14 pitchers to target
- SP Sean Burke (White Sox)
- SP Griffin Jax (Rays)
- SP Peter Lambert (Astros)
- RP Alex Lange (Royals)
- SP Ryan Weathers (Yankees)
We have four potential two-start starters, and we’ll start with Sean Burke.
After a tough start on June 13 against the Dodgers, Burke has rebounded nicely with wins in two consecutive starts. He tossed 7.1 fantastic innings after Burke was followed by an opener in New York two weeks ago, then struck out six over 6.1 IP, and only allowed one earned run against the Guardians on the 23rd.
He’s set to face the Orioles on the road on June 29.
Griffin Jax will run it back again this week against the Royals, one week after Jax struck out seven and didn’t allow an earned run against Kansas City. Jax has held up well as a starter this season. The only drawback is that the Rays’ righty hasn’t gone more than five innings in a start.
Peter Lambert was a nice find for the Astros this winter, as the ex-Rockie came back over to the United States after pitching for Yakult (NPB) in 2025. And while he struggled with runners on base against the Jays this past week, Lambert struck out six over 4.2 IP against Toronto last week.
Lambert hasn’t had a bad start since May 17, which one hopes doesn’t happen this week. He’ll start the week with a home start against the Twins.
Ryan Weathers took advantage of a Tigers team that hasn’t hit left-handed pitching (.688 OPS, 19th in Majors) last week in Detroit. Weathers will get the Tigers again on June 29 in New York.
Lastly, for a reliever pick, ex-Tigers closer Alex Lange has taken over the role in Kansas City. Seven saves for the righty, his most recent coming on the 28th.
Overview of Week 13
Some good, some bad with our Week 13 picks.
Matthew Boyd pitched well in his return from the IL this past week against the Mets, although he didn’t go five innings in a controlled start. We’ll see if Boyd can get past that mark against the Padres this week.
Andre Pallante only struck out six over 12.2 IP this week. However, he pitched well enough to pick up a win on the 22nd against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Shane Bieber didn’t pitch well against the Astros earlier this week. But in his second start, Bieber struck out four over 4.1 IP and limited the damage (two earned runs) against the Rangers.
Martin Perez & Walbert Urena had subpar weeks.
