Before the 2026 All-Star Game and, at least for some, an 11-day Week 16 coming up, it’s time for the last seven days before the break. This week’s list of potential pitching options includes three interesting lefties, plus a rising pitcher from the Tigers.
Best Week 15 pitchers to target
- SP Joey Cantillo (Guardians)
- SP Shane Drohan (Brewers)
- SP Eric Lauer (Dodgers)
- SP Troy Melton (Tigers)
- SP Landen Roupp (Giants)
It’s a heavy week of potential two-start starters, and we’ll start with Shane Drohan.
Drohan will be the first to go for the Brewers this week, one that’ll be an odyssey between St. Louis & Pittsburgh. The Brewers will play eight games in seven days, highlighted by a doubleheader on July 7.
The 27-year-old has been effective at netting swing-and-miss and chase, particularly on his four-seamer (32% Whiff%) that induced a lot of problems for hitters in Triple-A last season. Drohan has gone at least five innings in four of his last five starts.
He’ll get Dustin May and the Cardinals on the 6th.
Joey Cantillo will face the Twins on July 7, not the easiest offense in the world to face. But we’ll see if Byron Buxton, who aggravated his hip on July 5, will be in Minnesota’s lineup. If not, it would take the Twins’ biggest bat out of the equation.
Landen Roupp will be back at home, as he’s set to pitch against the Blue Jays on July 6. Roupp will look to get back on track after he walked six against the D-Backs, a sharp departure from norms after he posted two consecutive starts.
We’ll also run it back with Eric Lauer, who’s pitched well thus far as a Dodger to this point. While he only has 18 strikeouts across 34.1 IP with Los Angeles, Lauer is 3-0 with a 2.88 ERA since moving to the other coast. We hit with Lauer against the Rockies in May, six weeks ago, so let’s try it again on July 6.
Lastly, pick up Troy Melton. The righty pitched very well against the Yankees this past week in Yankee Stadium. He’s set to face the Athletics at home this week.
Overview of Week 14
Sean Burke, one of our Week 14 picks, didn’t notch a win over his two starts. But he pitched awfully well, as he struck out 19 over 11.1 IP for the Sox.
For those who have room, Burke is worth a hold for now.
Griffin Jax didn’t get to two starts this past week. However, he did pick up a win on June 30 against the Royals. He’ll face the Yankees at home on July 6, and hopefully, Jax was still held on to.
Ryan Weathers pitched better on the 5th, as he struck out six over four innings against the Twins. Unfortunately, it didn’t salvage a very difficult week for the left-hander.
