It’s been a tough few days for the Guardians, as Cleveland’s lineup is down some notable players. And on June 16, there were updates on the timelines for both Jose Ramirez & Angel Martinez. Plus, Michael Harris II left the Braves’ suspended game with a back injury.

Updates on Guardians’ injuries

The Guardians now have a timeline for Jose Ramirez, who went on the injured list earlier this week after he broke a hamate bone in his left hand. Ramirez is scheduled to be out for five to seven weeks.

As for Angel Martinez, he went on the IL with a non-displaced left foot fracture. Manager Stephen Vogt indicated that Martinez will be out for four to six weeks.

Lastly, Chase DeLauter is currently dealing with a bone bruise & small fracture in the right ribcage area.

Harris II leaves game

While Drake Baldwin came back from the IL and played his first game back on the 17th, Michael Harris II had to leave with lower back tightness, per the team.

IL moves

Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena went on the injured list with a left hamstring strain, retroactive to June 13.

The Phillies placed reliever Brad Keller on the IL with right forearm tendinitis, retroactive to June 14.

Cubs closer Daniel Palencia was placed on the 15-day IL with right elbow inflammation.

Rehab assignments

Marlins outfielder Griffin Conine went 1-2 with a strikeout for Triple-A Jacksonville.

Yankees catcher Austin Wells went 0-3 with a walk and a strikeout for Triple-A Scranton.

Red Sox infielder Romy Gonzalez went 1-2 with a home run for Double-A Portland.

Brandon Woodruff struck out six over 5.1 IP (82 pitches) for High-A Wisconsin. He gave up five hits & three earned runs,

Nationals pitcher DJ Herz struck out three over 2.2 IP (38 pitches) for Low-A Fredericksburg. Herz allowed four hits and gave up one run.

D-Backs first baseman Carlos Santana only made one plate appearance for the team’s ACL affiliate. He was hit by a pitch and came around to score in the first inning.

Other notes

Royals infielder Maikel Garcia departed on June 16 with left hand soreness.

Trea Turner (wrist), Josh Naylor (shin/wrist soreness), and Gleyber Torres (side) did not start on the 16th.
