The lineup sheets across Major League Baseball on April 24 were missing some players. Francisco Lindor was one of those players but that was expected, as he recovers from a calf strain and is currently on the IL. However, it’ll be a bit before the Mets can think about a return for Lindor.

Lindor shut down through first half of May

It was expected that the Mets would be without Francisco Lindor for longer than they were without Juan Soto, even though both suffered a calf injury. Now, we have a better idea of what the next few weeks will look like for the All-Star shortstop.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza indicated to the media on the 24th that Francisco Lindor will be in a walking boot for the next week, as he recovers from a calf strain suffered earlier this week.

Lindor won’t be re-evaluated for several weeks, meaning that he won’t be an option for the Mets until at least mid-May.

Yesavage’s MLB return still unknown

Trey Yesavage has made four Minor League appearances this season in his return from a shoulder injury. However, where his next start will be is still unknown.

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins stated on the 24th that the team is still discussing the next step for Yesavage, whether that be another rehab start or a return to Toronto.

IL placements

The Cubs placed pitcher Caleb Thielbar on the 15-day IL with a left hamstring strain. That news came down one day after he left his relief outing against the Phillies after he sustained said injury.

Rockies pitcher Ryan Feltner was placed on the 15-day IL with right ulnar nerve inflammation.

Rehab assignments

Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon struck out four over 4.1 IP (36.4% Whiff%) over 4.1 innings for High-A Hudson Valley. He tossed 65 total pitches.

Anthony Volpe went 0-4 with two strikeouts for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Mariners pitcher Bryce Miller struck out six (25.9% Whiff%) over three innings with High-A Everett. Miller threw 47 pitches.

Cubs pitcher Phil Maton struck out two over one inning for Triple-A Iowa. He gave up two hits and no earned runs over 25 total pitches.

Pirates infielder Jared Triolo went 0-3 with Low-A Bradenton.

Reds catcher Jose Trevino went 2-2 with two runs scored for High-A Dayton.

Other notes

The Yankees removed DH Giancarlo Stanton from their game in Houston due to right lower leg tightness.

Roman Anthony (back), Willi Castro (knee), Eugenio Suarez (back), and Maikel Garcia (elbow) did not play on April 24.

Michael Harris II (quad) did not start but pinch-hit for the Braves, driving in two on a double off Andrew Painter.

Edwin Uceta (Rays) and Porter Hodge (Cubs) transferred to the 60-day IL.
