The Dodgers were able to end their series with the Pirates on June 11 with a victory. However, Los Angeles suffered a scare during the game, as Shohei Ohtani left due to injury. Thankfully, LA appeared to have dodged a significant injury to their star.

Ohtani leaves game with knee inflammation

Shohei Ohtani was removed from the Dodgers’ game on June 10 with left knee inflammation, per the team.

After the contest, manager Dave Roberts indicated that Ohtani’s removal was more precautionary in nature. Roberts stated that Ohtani could return on the 12th against the Chicago White Sox.

Update on Robert Jr.

Mets outfielder Luis Robert Jr. hopes that he can start running next week in his return from a back injury.

Robert Jr. believes that he can return before the end of 2026.

IL moves

The Dodgers officially placed Will Smith on the injured list with neck inflammation.

Rangers pitcher Jalen Beeks was placed on the IL with low back spasms.

Tigers INF/OF Javier Baez (ankle sprain) was transferred to the 60-day IL.

Rehab assignments

Shane Bieber struck out four over five innings (62 pitches) for Triple-A Buffalo on June 11. Alejandro Kirk, who also played for the Bisons, went 1-3 with a double.

Aaron Civale struck out seven over 4.1 hitless innings (56 pitches) for Triple-A Las Vegas.

Braves pitcher Hurston Waldrep struck out three over 3.2 IP (53 pitches) for Double-A Columbus. Waldrep tossed 53 pitches.

Kodai Senga, who resumed his rehab assignment, struck out five over six innings (75 pitches) for Double-A Binghamton. He only gave up one run, which came off a home run from Yankees prospect Coby Morales.

Other notes

The CT scan on Seth Lugo, who left his start on June 10, came back negative. However, he is dealing with swelling and a sore arm after he fell, per the Royals pitcher himself.

Rockies outfielder Jake McCarthy (illness) and Rangers DH Joc Pederson (hip) were out on June 11.

Catcher Alejandro Kirk is expected back on June 12.
