Our final May 2026 farm report takes a look at the five teams in the AL East. Several of Tampa Bay’s prospects took steps forward, while the Blue Jays appear to have another rising pitching prospect on their hands.

Blue Jays

The Blue Jays have some exciting players in Low-A Dunedin. Juan Sanchez, a highly-touted 18-year-old outfielder, picked up nine extra-base hits with Dunedin in May after he barely hit above .100 in April. JoJo Parker, meanwhile, picked up 16 extra-base hits over his first 45 contests in the Florida State League.

Arjun Nimmala was promoted from High-A to Double-A New Hampshire last month and has hit well overall, even though the power-hitting infielder has just four extra-base hits in 18 games after averaging one every two games with Vancouver.

The big story, though, has been the emergence of Nolan Perry. Perry blew through the Florida State League in April, then struck out 40 over 25 innings with Vancouver to lead the Northwest League on the month.

Orioles

The Orioles will need their pitching reserves in the very near future, and Baltimore saw one come up earlier this year when Trey Gibson made his MLB debut.

Baltimore traded away from their system in the winter when Wellington Aracena and Michael Forret were packaged away in separate trades to get Major League assets. But the good news is that Boston Bateman, Joseph Dzierwa, and J.T. Quinn have all pitched well in High-A Frederick.

Dzierwa was promoted to Double-A a few weeks ago.

Wehiwa Aloy (1.026 OPS) also had a very good May.

Rays

The Rays’ system is filled with high-ceiling prospects, and Theo Gillen has moved himself front & center among players in the farm.

Gillen, who hit for a good amount of pop last season in Low-A Charleston, finished May with 30 hits for Bowling Green. That was good for a tie for sixth in the South Atlantic League for that month.

Brayden Taylor, a former first-rounder who had a down 2025, has hit more like a top prospect of late. Taylor hit .319/.400/.594 with five home runs and 22 hits last month for Double-A Montgomery. And he wasn’t the only Biscuit to give pitchers fits, as Austin Overn had 25 hits and five home runs over 16 games.

Overn came over to Tampa Bay in the trade that sent Shane Baz to Baltimore. Former first-rounder Caden Bodine, one of the top contact hitters in the Carolina League and also part of that trade, received a promotion to High-A.

Red Sox

For those who didn’t read our NL East May farm report, that one included an infographic that highlighted which pitchers were the best at getting swing-and-miss in the South Atlantic League in April. Anthony Eyanson was on that list, as he excelled at that level.

Eyanson was promoted to Double-A Portland in May, which capped off a stretch that saw him allow just one earned run over 20 innings with Greenville. The only earned run he gave up was off a home run.

Kyson Witherspoon, the Sox’s first-round pick from 2025, hasn’t been as sharp down in High-A. Witherspoon walked nine over 18 innings with the Drive last month.

Yankees

George Lombard Jr. had some growing pains in Triple-A last month, his first at the level after he was promoted in late April. A slash line of .192/.351/.298 with 28 strikeouts over 27 contests, although he took a significant amount of walks (24). That is a great sign, despite the off slash line.

Spencer Jones made his big-league debut in May, although it could have gone better, as the swing-and-miss problems that were evident at the Minor League level were seen at the MLB level last month.

Carlos Lagrange finished tied with Ryan Gusto for the second-most strikeouts (33) in the International League last month.
