Things keep moving in the right direction for the White Sox, a club that is inching ever so close to the AL Central lead. As for the Mariners, Seattle will enter the month of June in first place in their division after a sweep of the Diamondbacks.
White Sox win fifth straight
Two runs were all the White Sox needed to win their fifth straight, as Chicago defeated the Tigers 2-1.
Colson Montgomery hit a solo shot to tie the game at one in the seventh. Tristan Peters hit an RBI single that wound up being the difference-maker in this contest.
Jacob Gonzalez, promoted earlier in the weekend, went 1-3 for the Sox in his MLB debut.
The White Sox are now one game behind the Guardians for first in the AL Central.
Seattle’s win streak moves to six
A sacrifice fly in the 10th inning gave the Mariners a 3-2 win over the D-Backs, and their sixth win in a row.
The piggyback combo of Bryce Miller and Luis Castillo was effective, as the two combined to strike out nine and only allowed one earned run over those 10 frames.
Cole Young and Dominic Canzone each hit home runs for the Mariners.
Mets sweep Marlins
On a bullpen day for the Marlins, the Mets scored 10 runs to complete a series sweep of Miami in Citi Field.
Carson Benge and Marcus Semien hit home runs, and Juan Soto belted a grand slam for his 13th homer of the 2026 season.
Nolan McLean‘s command problems continued, as the rookie pitcher walked five over five. The good news for the Mets is that he only conceded two earned runs.
Dodgers win series versus Phillies
The Dodgers put up nine on the Phillies, as Los Angeles completed a series victory against Philadelphia by a score of 9-1.
Ryan Ward hit his first career MLB home run on the day. Alex Freeland and Max Muncy also went deep for a Dodgers team that picked up thirteen total hits.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out 10 over 5.1 shutout innings.
Miz sharp yet again
The Brewers defeated the Astros 2-0 in Houston.
Both starters were good in this one. Tatsuya Imai struck out five over six innings and only allowed two earned runs. Those came from Jake Bauers, who hit a two-run home run off Imai in the fourth.
As for Jacob Misiorowski, the Brewers’ ace struck out eight over seven scoreless innings. Misiorowski lowered his ERA to 1.65.
