Dallas Keuchel is back in the AL West. Keuchel reportedly agreed to join the Athletics on a Minor League pact, as the veteran lefty looks to continue his MLB career. Philadelphia, meanwhile, added some outfield depth in a deal.

Misner to Phillies

The Phillies traded for now-ex-Royals outfielder Kameron Misner, who was designated for assignment earlier this week.

Misner had 41 at-bats with the Royals this season, with most of his action coming in Triple-A this season. While he’s always been a big swing-and-miss hitter, Misner’s speed and power have made him a depth piece for several big-league clubs. He hit 14 home runs and 33 extra-base hits over 63 contests with Omaha this season.

He was optioned to Triple-A after the trade.

Keuchel back in affiliated ball

Per multiple reports, including ESPN and MLB.com, the Athletics are signing left-hander Dallas Keuchel to a Minor League deal.

Keuchel, long known for being a high groundball pitcher, will get another crack at pitching in the Majors. The former Cy Young Award winner bounced around between the Minors and the NPB in 2024 and 2025, and his most recent work in affiliated ball was with Omaha in the Royals’ system.

He was released by Kansas City in August 2025.

Recalls & options

Josh Smith (Rangers), Connor Thomas (Braves), Will Dion (Guardians), Eric Wagaman (Mets), Kyle Backhus (Phillies), and Bryan King (Astros) were recalled from the Minors.

Max Muncy (Athletics), Max Lazar (Phillies), Chris Roycroft (Rays), Marco Raya (Twins), and Alex McFarlane (Phillies) were optioned to the Minors.

Other notes

Steward Berroa (Phillies) and Elieser Hernandez (Braves) were designated for assignment.

The Phillies selected Brian Keller from Triple-A.
