Every year, the Cape Cod League features many top-tier college players, who more often than not go to the pros — and some of those players go on to do big things. Notable alumni from the Cape Cod League include Lance Berkman, Frank Thomas, and current-day stars like Aaron Judge and Adley Rutschman. In mid-January, the circuit confirmed when the 2025 campaign will start.
The 2025 Cape Cod League season will start on June 14, per the league. That date lines up roughly when it began in 2024, on June 15.
The year for the Cape Cod League will begin about a month after the 2025 NCAA season ends, on May 17. From there, conference tournaments will take place shortly thereafter, with the NCAA Tournament beginning in late-May and ending in late-June.
The 2025 Cape Cod League schedule will feature eight weeks of action. Teams will host their first home game during the first weekend, will play at home either on July 3/4, plus one August home game. Playoffs begin on August 5 and conclude on August 13.
Additionally, the 2025 Cape Cod League All-Star Game will take place on July 19 in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, home of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.
Because of the nature of the NCAA Tournament, it’s likely several top college players won’t be starting the year in the Cape. And on top of that, USA Baseball traditionally claims the top echelon of American-born freshmen and sophomores for the annual CNT schedule.
Still, the league will likely feature big-name freshmen and sophomores, as well as juniors either looking to make a strong push towards the annual MLB Draft or impress before their senior campaign.
Last season, the circuit featured several likely first and second-round picks in the 2025 MLB Draft, including Ethan Petry, Devin Taylor, Ike Irish, as well as other notable prospects like Ryder Helfrick and Daniel Cuvet.
