On April 20, 2025, the MLB The Show 25 debuted a new card series called Color Storm, and these cards will make up the next installment of Team Affinity. And, this Team Affinity will work a little bit differently, as Sony confirmed a fan vote will help decide what players featured as Color Storm players. Here’s a look at how it’ll work.

What is it?
Color Series will mark the next Team Affinity drop in MLB The Show 25. This new Team Affinity will feature 91-92 OVR players and launched on May 23, 2025.
Sony San Diego previously said in past livestreams that new Team Affinity rewards would be released & made available outside of the 30 My Journey paths, which were set at the start of the year.
For reference, the My Journey paths include 85 OVR Jolt Captain cards at 55,000 TA points, plus the soon-to-be-released 2025 All-Star and Finest cards. All-Star cards will be released in July, while Finest cards will come out in November.
However, working on Color Storm will provide a significant boost towards My Journey. Once one unlocks a Color Storm Boss and accrues 500 PXP with it, 150,000 TA points towards My Journey will be awarded.

All 30 are Captain cards, much like the Jolt Series. The development team said for balancing purposes, some players have nerfed boosts, including teams that can run multiple captains.
For example, the Mets can run two Captains (John Franco and Mark Vientos), as teams can use one active Hitting and Pitching captain.
Additionally, the development team stated 15 Bosses will be needed for the next Legends & Flashbacks Collection, released on June 13.

One will need 50,000 TA Points to get through each one. And much like My Journey, the Missions are team-specific.
Color Storm vote
Per the MLB The Show 25 team, fans were able to vote on select players to receive 91 OVR Color Series cards.
For one week in April, SDS revealed three players from one particular team in the NL East each weekday. Then, fans were be able vote on which player will be featured in the upcoming Color Series drop.

The rest of the players were chosen by the development team.
