MLB The Show 25 Gunnar Takeover Program: Rewards & how to make progress

On July 25, the third Takeover Program for MLB The Show 25 went live. As one might notice, Gunnar Henderson is now the featured player on the start-up screen for The Show. To celebrate, a new 99 OVR Gunnar Henderson is available in Diamond Dynasty, obtainable through the aforementioned program.

2 Points: 2,000 XP
4 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
6 Points: 2,000 XP
8 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
10 Points: 2,000 XP
12 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
14 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
16 Points: 2,000 XP
18 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
20 Points: 99 OVR Cover Athletes Gunnar Henderson and 2,000 XP

This Henderson is nine overall points higher than the 90 OVR Elly that dropped in May, and five points higher than the Skenes.

How to make progress

Here’s a look at all the available tasks for the Gunnar Henderson Takeover Program:

Complete five Moments (10 pts. – 2 pts. each)
Stat Missions:
- Tally 20 hits with left-handed hitters (2 pts.)
- Tally five home runs with primary shortstops (2 pts.)
- Tally 10 extra-base hits with primary shortstops (2 pts.)
- Tally 10 extra-base hits with hitters aged 24 or younger (2 pts.)
- Tally 20 hits with Orioles (2 pts.)
- Tally 1,000 PXP with Orioles players (2 pts)
OPTIONAL Gunnar Henderson Missions:
- Tally four hits with any Gunnar Henderson card (2 pts.)
- Tally two extra-base hits with any Gunnar Henderson card (2 pts.)
- Tally one home run with any Gunnar Henderson card (2 pts.)
- Tally 200 PXP with any Gunnar Henderson card (2 pts.)

The stat Missions can be completed in either single-player or online game modes within Diamond Dynasty. Showdown & Moments are excluded.

This program doesn’t have lengtht PXP requirements. Rather, many of the stat missions can be completed with a wider swath of players, so long as those individuals meet the requirements.

For example, the age 24 or younger options include the All-Star Elly De La Cruz & Jacob Wilson from Team Affinity, or all of the MLB Draft options.

Additionally, one use either the 80 OVR Gunnar in the Starter Program, or his Live Series to complete the optional missions.
