On August 1, Sony dropped the Outfield Assist Program in MLB The Show 25. This is not a big program on paper. However, it did contain two new 99 OVR cards. And as the name suggests, both have attributes that make them valuable defensively. One is a 99 OVR David Justice with 99 Arm Strength, and the other is a 99 OVR Eric Davis with 99 Speed.

• 5 Points: 1,000 XP
• 10 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
• 15 Points: 250 Stubs
• 20 Points: 2,000 XP
• 25 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
• 30 Points: 250 Stubs
• 35 Points: 3,000 XP
• 40 Points: 99 OVR Awards David Justice
• 45 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
• 50 Points: 250 Stubs
• 55 Points: 4,000 XP
• 60 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
• 65 Points: 5,000 XP

How to make progress

Now, a look at the tasks:

• Complete five Moments (25 pts. – 5 pts. each)
• OPTIONAL PXP Missions:
  • Tally 300 PXP with any Roberto Clemente card (5 pts.)
  • Tally 300 PXP with Willie Mays card (5 pts.)
  • Tally 300 PXP with David Justice card (5 pts.)
  • Tally 300 PXP with Oneil Cruz card (5 pts.)
  • Tally 300 PXP with Eric Davis card (5 pts.)
• Outfield Stat Missions:
  • Tally 20 hits with any primary outfielders (LF, CF, RF) (5 pts.)
  • Tally 10 extra-base hits with any primary outfielders (5 pts.)
  • Tally five home runs with any primary outfielders (5 pts.)
  • Tally five stolen bases with any primary outfielders (5 pts.)
  • Tally 50 total bases with any primary outfielders (5 pts.)
• Attribute Missions:
  • Tally 10 hits with 85+ Fielding players (5 pts.)
  • Tally five extra-base hits with 85+ Arm Strength players (5 pts.)
  • Tally three home runs with 85+ Arm Accuracy players (5 pts.)
  • Tally 25 total bases with 85+ Reaction players (5 pts.)
  • Tally two stolen bases with 85+ Speed players (5 pts.)

Moments will get a third of this program done. From there, it’s about the Missions.

For the optional PXP ones, there are plentiful options among the above players. There’s a David Ortiz in the Last Ride Program, Live Series & Home Run Derby cards for Oneil Cruz, plus there’s a Gold Roberto Clemente (Pirates) and Silver Eric Davis (Dodgers) in My Journey: Team Affinity.

As for the attributes-based Missions, 98 OVR 2025 All-Star Pete Crow-Armstrong meets the requirements for all five of them (he can also help with the Ryne Sandberg Program). The 99 OVR Acuna Jr. from the Speedway Program meets the Arm Strength, Arm Accuracy, and Speed mission requirements. And, the 99 OVR Gunnar meets the requirements for the Arm Strength and Speed.
