MLB will be celebrating the first-ever Rivalry Weekend beginning on May 15, which will include 15 matchups that will feature geographical rivalries on full display. Sony dropped the MLB The Show 25 Rivalry Weekend Program on May 15, as well, with a focus on the Astros/Rangers matchup that started on the same day. Diamond cards of Hunter Brown and Adolis Garcia are rewards in this program.

Hunter Brown

90 OVR Hunter Brown

Adolis Garcia

90 OVR Adolis Garcia

Neither will likely be particularly meta. However, both should be very useful for the 99 OVR Scott Rolen Collection.

How to make progress

  • Complete 15 Moments (75 pts. – 5 pts. each)
  • Complete Rivalry Weekend Conquest (50 pts.)
  • OPTIONAL Stat Missions:
    • Tally five hits with primary right fielders (5 pts.)
    • Tally two saves with primary closers (CP) (5 pts.)
    • Tally three extra-base hits with primary shortstops (5 pts.)
    • Tally 10 innings with starting pitchers (5 pts.)
    • Tally five hits with primary third basemen (5 pts.)

If you like Moments, this program is for you. There are 15 Moments, a collection of pitching and hitting ones and all are on Veteran difficulty. None are particularly daunting, as there are several that require either an extra-base hit or just to get on base.

Alternatively, one can do a combination of Moments and/or Stat Missions, along with the Conquest.

Realistically, one should do the Conquest if there are player Missions for other Assorted Programs (i.e. Cornerstone Evolutions) to get done. The rewards are not terrible for completing it, which includes a Deluxe Choice Pack and 4,500 XP for beating six teams and completing it in full.

And, the stat missions can get done easily within the Conquest. So if you’re going the Conquest route, save time and don’t do the Moments.
