In past years, MLB The Show has run special content themed around the Home Run Derby X tour run by the league. But in 2026, the league opted for a different touring format, as MLBx, a condensed version of baseball, made its debut. Several Major League legends were in the tour, and some landed in MLB The Show 26 on September 18. Among them were former MLB The Show cover athlete Adrian Gonzalez, Shane Victorino, and Julio Franco.
