Prospects to Watch in 2026 MLB Futures Game

Two days before the 2026 MLB All-Star Game on July 14, many of the top prospects across the league will take the field in the annual Futures Game. There will be no shortage of talent but for those wondering which names you really should keep an eye on, here’s a primer for that.

American League

Several first-round picks from the 2025 MLB Draft are going to Philadelphia for the Futures Game, including the first-overall pick. We’ll get to that in a second. But aside from Willits, the top pitchers from last year’s draft are also going.

Angels pitcher Tyler Bremner showcased some of the best secondary stuff in the collegiate scene last season. And when healthy, Bremner’s pitched very well this season. Kade Anderson, who went third overall to the Mariners last July, has been truly elite in terms of swing-and-miss at the Double-A level this season.

Anderson’s not the only one here going to the Futures Game.

The Blue Jays are sending two heavyweight prospects, JoJo Parker & Nolan Perry. Parker, as we documented in our June AL East farm report, has held his own & hit for power in the Florida State League as a teenager. Plus, he was tied for 14th in the FSL in total hits as of July 3.

Nolan Perry, who was easy to forget about given that he was a 2022 Draft pick out of high school, has been one of the best swing-and-miss pitchers in A-ball this season. Three-pitch arsenal, which includes a hard slider and mid-90s fastball.

Kendry Chourio, arguably the best prospect in the Royals’ system, has been a fantastic finesse pitcher as a teenager in A-ball. He’ll be joined by fellow Royals prospect Blake Mitchell, one of the most high-risk yet impressive prospects in baseball thanks to his power.

The Astros are sending Kevin Alvarez & Xavier Neyens, two teenagers who have held their own in A-ball. Both Alvarez & Neyens are arguably the two best prospects in the Houston system.

Caleb Bonemer is one of several high-profile infielder prospects in the White Sox’s system, one that could add another big name to that group next weekend. As we documented in our June AL Central farm review, Bonemer has impressive pull-side pop. He hit 18 home runs in 61 games with High-A Winston-Salem.

The Rays and Red Sox are sending Theo Gillen & Franklin Arias, respectively, arguably the best prospects in both teams’ systems.

Plus, A’s fans will get a look at superstar prospect Leo De Vries, who was a Padres prospect this time last year.

National League

If you look at that graphic in the AL section, Karson Milbrandt of the Marlins was the best swing-and-miss pitcher in Double-A this season.

We noted in February that Milbrandt was already a top-five prospect in the Marlins’ system heading into 2026. Plus fastball/slider combo that’s elicited swing-and-miss at every level he’s pitched, including the Arizona Fall League last year.

Milbrandt is one of several notable NL East prospects going to Philadelphia. Gage Wood, the best pitching prospect in the Philadelphia system, roared through A-ball and is now in Double-A. The Braves are sending former first-rounder Cam Caminiti, a ground-ball specialist currently in High-A. And Eli Willits is going to Philadelphia, representing the Nationals.

Willits, the top pick last July, has been the total package this season. Speed, plus contact & low swing-and-miss, plus power. The 18-year-old hit 12 home runs between Low-A and High-A thus far this season.

Moving on, the Brewers and Dodgers could have many more than two names on the Futures Game roster. However, fans will get to see Jesús Made & Josue De Paula. Made is currently second in the Southern League in hits as a teenager. De Paula, the 2025 Futures Game MVP, is currently the Texas League leader (96) in hits.

Ethan Salas will also be in the Futures Game, just to let you know.

For some power-hitting prospects, Charlie Condon (Rockies) and Alfredo Duno (Reds) are names to watch. Condon, the Rockies’ first-round pick in 2024, is knocking on the door in Triple-A. Duno, meanwhile, is tied for fourth in the Midwest League in home runs (16) as a teenager.

Lastly, Seth Hernandez has the opportunity to light up radar guns on a national stage. High-90s fastball that can run up to the triple-digits. And whatever level Hernandez has been at this season, he’s gotten swing-and-miss.
