Troy, Louisville, and Duke dropped out after last week.

LSU sticks on top despite the fact the Tigers dropped their opener against South Carolina this past week. The Tigers won the next two to finish second in the SEC, meaning LSU won’t play again until Friday.

Texas, meanwhile, took two of three from Oklahoma to finish tops in the conference during the regular season. The Longhorns will look to finish the job in Hoover this week, starting on May 22 at 4 PM ET.

Lastly, North Carolina moved to #3 after taking two of three from FSU in Tallahassee. Jake Knapp, on the Golden Spikes semifinalist list and officially the ACC Pitcher of the Year, struck out seven in a complete-game victory on May 15. One day later, Jason DeCaro struck out seven in an 11-1 victory.

However, UNC didn’t finish tops in the ACC. Florida State finished ahead of the Tar Heels at 17-10, while UNC was third with an 18-11 record in ACC play. The top spot went to Georgia Tech after winning two of three against Duke in Durham.

The Yellow Jackets moved up to #16 this week.

Lastly, the Big 10 race went down to the wire. Oregon, #5 in the nation, took the top spot, beating out UCLA and Iowa. The Ducks helped their own cause significantly this past weekend, as Oregon swept the Hawkeyes in Iowa City to notch the #1 spot.

Oregon will play Michigan State on May 22 to begin the Big 10 tourney, followed by Nebraska on the 23rd.

As for the non-power schools, Northeastern jumped into the top-25 for the first time this season. The Huskies beat UConn and swept NC A&T over the weekend to finish the year 25-2 in CAA play and 44-9 overall.

Northeastern was a top-25 school heading into 2024 but fell thanks to rough seasons from Mike Sirota, as well as two standout freshmen from 2023, Cam Maldonado and Aiven Cabral. Both Maldonado and Cabral, 2025 MLB Draft-eligible, had much better seasons. Cabral struck out 69 over 80 and posted a 2.45 ERA, while Maldonado hit .375 with 15 home runs and 30 extra-base hits.
