It’s time to get ready for Week 7 of the 2025 fantasy baseball season. Here’s a look at five hitting options available in most leagues, which include several buy-low options and individuals with underrated value.
Best Week 7 hitters to target
- OF Jordan Beck (Rockies)
- C Ivan Herrera (Cardinals)
- 1B Rhys Hoskins (Brewers)
- 3B Josh Jung (Rangers)
- 2B/3B/SS/OF Daniel Schneemann (Guardians)
Rhys Hoskins makes the list for the second time in three weeks, thanks in part to the good month he’s having. Hoskins posted a six-game hitting streak this past week, and while the home run power hasn’t been like what it was in Philadelphia, he’s an option for those in need of help at first.
Now, on to the rest of the list.
Let’s start with Daniel Schneemann, who, believe it or not, was second in MLB in slugging (.870) in the Majors for May as of May 10 (min. 15 PA). Only Shohei Ohtani (.944) had a higher one.
I tipped my hand on this one in our Week 6 risers & fallers list. He can play multiple positions, is playing regularly, and generating more bat speed (Did I mention he’s been using a torpedo bat?) and power compared to his past numbers.
Would I count on this stretch, in which he put up an obscene 20.8% Barrel%, to continue? No. But is a fantasy option? Yes.
Next up is Jordan Beck, whose value took a hit somewhat in May after tearing things up in late April. The numbers have come down to earth, as Beck has only one home run since April 25. However, Beck is in the midst of a 10-game hitting streak, during which he picked up eight runs and 12 total hits.
Beck was a former first-round pick on the heels of his power potential, and thus far, it’s been a mixed bag. The good news is that Beck has been barreling up the ball (18.5%) more and was a valued bat for Bud Black. Now, let’s see how he’ll be utilized with an interim manager.
Lastly, here are two buy-low options.
Ivan Herrera just came back from the injured list and picked up two hits in his first two games back. We’ll see how much pop Herrera can deliver from here on out; he had four home runs in seven games before hitting the IL. But last season in a semi-regular role, he hit .301.
Josh Jung, meanwhile, picked up his fourth home run of the year on May 11 and currently has what would be a career-best 9.2% Barrel/PA.
Overview of Week 6
Andy Pages continues to wreak havoc on opposing pitchers. The Dodgers outfielder picked up 11 hits over the last week, tied for the second in the Majors. He also drove in six runs. If it’s not obvious at this point, Pages is a premium fantasy option.
Jonathan India (6-25) and Hunter Goodman (9-26, one HR, seven RBI) had respectable weeks. Meanwhile, Kyle Stowers went 2-20 amid a cold spell.
