The day on May 11 was quiet in nature on the injury front, a good sight to see. However, several teams provided updates on injured players on the 11th, including the Rangers and Yankees. Corey Seager’s hamstring is acting up again, while Marcus Stroman will need more time to return from the IL.

Setback for Stroman

Yankees pitcher Marcus Stroman won’t be returning to pitch anytime soon.

Manager Aaron Boone said Stroman experienced knee discomfort after pitching in a live BP session in Tampa on May 9. Stroman will be reevaluated and does not have a timetable to return, per Boone.

Seager missed another game

One day after Corey Seager hit two home runs, the Rangers’ shortstop was not in the starting lineup on May 11. It was injury-related, per manager Bruce Bochy.

Bochy said Seager re-aggravated his hamstring, which caused him to miss two games this week, and will be evaluated on May 12.

Other injury news

Anthony Santander (shoulder) missed his third consecutive game on May 11.

Several catchers left games on May 11. Luis Torrens left after getting hit in the groin off a foul ball. Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk was removed with a head contusion after taking a ball off his mask.

Angels outfielder Mike Trout resumed swinging a bat and will start running the bases this coming week.

Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell is still experiencing issues with his left shoulder and will meet with team doctors on May 12. Snell got an injection in his shoulder in late April.
