It’s been a return to form for several notable veterans this past week across MLB action. However, a continued struggle for one notable pitcher, as well as low batting averages and subpar production from others. Here’s our weekly “who’s hit & who’s not” list for Week 9 of 2026.

Risers

You can be in part one one week, and another the next week. That’s been the case for Ian Happ, who’s been scorching hot over the last few days for the Cubs.

Happ had three home runs and eight total hits to raise his average to .230. He’s never had a 30-home run campaign but Happ has a shot, as the switch-hitting outfielder is up to 13 on the season.

Aside from him, Bryan Reynolds and Ketel Marte have been scorching at the plate, as the two batted over .500 over the last week. Marte drove in 10 runs this past week, also a testament to how the train has rolled for the D-Backs recently.

Andy Pages (.476 AVG, three HR, eight RBI), meanwhile, continues to hit, as he’s done all year.

Cristopher Sanchez will conclude May with no runs allowed, and if the season were to end today, he would arguably be the most valuable pitcher in fantasy. And after spending all of 2026 on the IL before late May, Gerrit Cole came back to toss 12.2 IP scoreless to begin his season.

Fallers

Lots of strikeouts this past week from people you’d expect. Austin Riley (13) and Elly De La Cruz (12) were two of the three hitters with the most strikeouts over the last week. However, very little offensive production from those two, aside from one De La Cruz home run.

Pete Crow-Armstrong will likely set a new career-high for walks this season. However, PCA is in line for a down year, and the sub-.200 average this past week was another down one for the Cubs outfielder.

Shota Imanaga, meanwhile, made it back onto the fall list after what was yet another difficult start on May 29. The left-hander gave up home runs to Nelson Velazquez, Thomas Saggese, and Ivan Herrera against the Cardinals.

That’s now 10 home runs allowed for Imanaga, tied with Kyle Freeland and teammate Jameson Taillon for most given up during the month.

Now, given how Imanaga likes to play up with the fastball, those numbers aren’t a shock. But for Sandy Alcantara, who gave up three home runs in his last start, that is a problem.
