Thanks to a very favorable hitting environment, we saw some wild offensive numbers in Las Vegas this past week. And on June 14, the Athletics’ one-week tour of their new home ended with a bang, as the Rockies & A’s combined for 32 runs. However, the home team didn’t come out on top.
Rockies score 23 in Vegas
The Rockies scored a new franchise record for runs scored in a game, as Colorado put up 23 in Las Vegas against the Athletics.
Five home runs were hit by Colorado hitters, two by Hunter Goodman and two by Willi Castro. Castro had seven RBI on the day, while Goodman’s 2026 home run total is now at 20. Kyle Karros had four hits, as well.
The A’s, meanwhile, had 15 hits. Three of those were from Lawrence Butler, while Tyler Soderstrom, Zack Gelof, Jonah Heim, and Alika Williams each had two.
Marlins move to 10-2 in June
Despite a 10-strikeout effort from Paul Skenes, the Marlins & Max Meyer outdueled him, as Miami is 10-2 to start the month.
Meyer had yet another impressive run in what’s been a healthy, breakout campaign for the former first-rounder. He struck out nine and conceded just one run over six innings.
Heriberto Hernandez and Joe Mack each hit home runs off Skenes.
Brewers in pitchers’ duel
Kyle Harrison tossed six shutout innings against the Phillies and picked up his eighth win of the season.
The Brewers’ offense was able to get to Cristopher Sanchez, who gave up four earned runs and didn’t get past the sixth. Jackson Chourio hit a lead-off shot in the first, while Blake Perkins belted a hanging breaking ball for a three-run home run in the fourth.
It was Perkins’ first home run of the season.
Webb pitches gem for Giants
Logan Webb didn’t allow an earned run over eight innings in a game that saw him strike out seven and pick up his fourth win of 2026.
Matt Chapman continues his stellar run, as he hit yet another home run against the Cubs. His two-run home run in the fifth was his seventh of the season.
Casey Schmitt & Jung Hoo Lee each had two hits.
Rangers win on Sunday Night
Nathan Eovaldi and the Rangers defeated Boston 6-4 on Sunday Night Baseball.
Wyatt Langford got the scoring off with a lead-off home run in the first off Connelly Early. One inning later, Kyle Higashioka hit a three-run shot to put Texas up 4-0.
Eovaldi gave up three earned runs and struck out six over seven frames.
As for the Sox, Willson Contreras hit his 15th and 16th home runs.
