On June 24, USA Baseball announced which collegiate players are headed to North Carolina to participate in the annual training camp. The prize is not just a coveted spot on the USA roster but also a chance to wear the stars & stripes and play in the new World Collegiate Baseball Championship that will start next month.

As expected, many of the top names from across college baseball this season are on the list.

Gavin Kelly, who’s coming off an impressive 2026 campaign that ended with a run to Omaha with West Virginia, is among the standouts. Kelly, who caught and played the infield for WVU, hit .382 with the Mountaineers and hit 19 home runs this season. He’ll likely be among the favorites to go first overall in 2027.

Landon Hairston, one of three Golden Spikes finalists, is also coming off a standout season. Hairston hit .400 with 28 home runs as a sophomore for Arizona State.

Also among notables on the list are Troy catcher Jimmy Janicki, who helped the Trojans get to Omaha for the first time, plus standout freshmen Jacob Parker, Anthony Pack Jr., and Jorian Wilson.

Tague Davis, the DI leader in home runs this season, was one of several players poached from the Cape Cod League. Chris Ramirez and Rhys Bowie were, as well.

Pitching-wise, the USA camp roster includes Mississippi State ace Tomas Valincius, as well as teammates Jack Bauer & Ryan McPherson, Camden Sundstrom, and Henry Zatkowski.

Team USA’s roster also includes some seniors, rare as the organization typically chooses rising sophomores and juniors for its collegiate national team. Luke Harrison and Kolby Branch, the latter of whom is coming off a 20-home run season, were both chosen for the camp.

Defending champion Oklahoma is also well-represented. Freshmen pitchers Xander Mercurius and Cord Rager were also chosen.

Players who make the roster will participate in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship that will take place in Taiwan this year.
