International games have become a staple of the MLB schedule for years. The league will continue that tradition in 2026, as Major League Baseball will contest two April regular-season games in Mexico City next season.

When & where will the 2026 Mexico Series be held?

The 2026 MLB Mexico Series will be held in Mexico City between April 25 and April 26. It’ll be a two-game series.

This will be the third time in four years that Major League Baseball has contested games in Mexico. The league held regular-season contests during both the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. There were none in Mexico in the 2025 season.

Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu will be the host venue. It has previously hosted MLB regular-season games.

Which teams will participate?

The Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres will be the two teams. Both games will be Arizona home games.

Many of San Diego’s players should be familiar with the surroundings. The Padres played two games in that same venue back in 2023 against the Giants. San Diego won both of those games.

Those games showcased the hitter-friendly environment of Mexico City, which sits at an altitude of 7,349 feet, significantly higher than what it is in Denver and Coors Field. The Padres and Giants combined for 27 runs in the first game, highlighted by six home runs. Fernando Tatis Jr. went deep, while Manny Machado hit two.

San Diego scored six in the second game to end with 22 combined runs.

As for the Diamondbacks, Arizona also played in Mexico in a previous campaign. The D-Backs played two games against the Rockies in 2019. Those games were contested in Monterrey.

It should be noted that these games will be part of a speciality game schedule that will include the Field of Dreams game in Iowa, as well as the annual Little League Classic.
