On August 11, 2023, the Dodgers retired Fernando Valenzuela’s #34. To celebrate Valenzuela and others who have had their numbers retired by MLB teams, San Diego Studio released the Number Retirement Program in MLB The Show 23. Here’s how gamers can make progress in this Program.

How to make progress in Number Retirement Program

Much like with traditional Other Programs, MLB The Show 23 players will need to complete a series of Missions, Moments, and a Showdown in order to obtain Star Points and complete this Program in full.

Here’s a complete look at the tasks:

  • Complete the Number Retirement Other Program Conquest (20 pts.)
  • Complete 16 Moments (32 pts. – 2 pts. each)
  • Collections:
    • Collect Milestone Todd Helton (4 pts.)
    • Collect Milestone Jorge Posada (4 pts.)
    • Collect Milestone Catfish Hunter (4 pts.)
    • Collect Milestone Chipper Jones (4 pts.)
    • Collect Milestone Willie Stargell (4 pts.)
    • Collect Milestone Jim Thome (4 pts.)
    • Collect Milestone Eddie Mathews (16 pts.)

    • Score seven runs with Milestone Mickey Mantle in Diamond Dynasty (1v1 Ranked, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, and Conquest) (3 pts.)

For the Collections, all but three — Thome, Mathews, and Young — can be found in the Number Retirement Choice Pack. The other three are Event rewards.

This program will not expire.
