MLB The Show 24: How to complete Season 3 Collections in Diamond Dynasty

Much like in the first and second seasons, Season 3 of MLB The Show 24 Diamond Dynasty includes Collections and Collection rewards. These include the Out of Position Collection added in Season 3, the Finest Collection — which needs to be completed to get 99 OVR Mike Trout — and the traditional season-themed collection, which requires Diamond Dynasty players to collect as many cards as possible from the active season. So, here’s a look at the Season 3, Out of Position, and Finest Collection rewards, plus the requirements to get them.

Season 3 Card Collection

First, let’s take a look at the Season 3 Collection rewards in MLB The Show 24:

A few notes on the Season 3 rewards. One, three Wild Card Slots — which allow Diamond Dynasty players to use S1 and S2 cards in Ranked Seasons and S3-themed Conquests — are obtainable in the Collection. However, SDS stated on The Show forums that those who unlocked Wild Card slots in Season 2 won’t have to again in Season 3. Thus, these are empty rewards who have done so.

Second, just one 99 OVR Collection Choice Pack was available at the season’s launch. Much like in Season 2, SDS added new tiers through Season 3.

So, how does one get Season 3 cards? Well, Team Affinity 3 launched with 30 S3 cards. Additionally, there are S3 cards as rewards in Events, Battle Royale, and Ranked Seasons. Be on the lookout for Other Programs, and get the Awards Drop Programs done. However, those can be completed passively.

Out of Position Collection

Sony San Diego also released an Out of Position Collection on August 29. It’s in the ‘Special Collections’ folder. Here’s a look at the rewards, plus the requirements to get each.

Forty Out of Position cards are needed for the 99 OVR SP Anthony Rizzo. This will require the 30 Team Affinity 3: Chapter 1 bosses, plus the three rewards underneath this card and additional ones. Some Out of Position cards, like 95 OVR Jose Trevino and 96 OVR Lance Lynn, can be obtained through packs or the marketplace.

Finest Collection

At the start of Team Affinity 3: Chapter 2, SDS released a special Collection of Finest cards. Here’s a look at the cards, plus the requirements:

To make progress in this collection, Diamond Dynasty players will need to obtain Season 3 Retro Finest cards. No previously released Retro Finest cards from past seasons are for this collection.

These include the 30 TA2:Chapter 2 cards, the 99 OVR Chris Martin from the Career Tribute Program, Ranked reward Paul O’Neill, 99 OVR Andrew Benintendi, and re-released Finest cards from past games, among others.

Among re-released S3 Finest cards include the 2023 Finest cards of Brooks Raley and Camilo Doval.

We should note that as of October 2024, no 2024 Finest cards were available yet. Those will likely be released after the conclusion of the 2024 MLB season.
